Hi everyone! :)
Well, I've been drawn to Persephone for a long time (since before I even knew about paganism, actually). So I was thinking maybe she's my patron Goddess.
Today I was in my dad's bathroom, and I happened to look down at his shampoo-- it was "Pomegranate Splash"!

I think it might be a sign, but I want other people's opinion on this.

Thanks for your help. :hahugh:

1. I don't know why someone else's shampoo would mean anything.

2. Pomegranate shampoo? I assume you've been in a hair products aisle in the last year or two, so you have probably noticed that pomegranate is everywhere. Combined with every other fruit in existence. You can't get away from it.

3. Nevermind that it's someone else's shampoo and that it's the most ridiculously common scent in existence anymore. The likelihood that any one given thing is really all that significant, unless it was something extremely rare is pretty low.

Who knows, maybe Persephone is to be your patron. Is a bottle of shampoo in your dad's bathroom in one of the current trendiest scents on the market a sign of that? Doubtful.

I have to agree. I think it is a tad to general, and not specific to you, to be a sign. Why not just ask for a sign? No harm in that... it often helps. But then don't expect it to be something you might easily see. Important messages can come in really strange ways. From common to completely not what you expect.

Like getting an answer to a question on what you need to work on to move forward in your life and then getting a really negative letter from someone that, although is not good and not justified on their part, DOES include the areas you need to focus on. The universe is great at playing such games. :)

Happy Hunting!

I have to agree with the above posters. It is highly unlikely that someone else purchasing a commonly scented shampoo is a sign of anything.
The fact that you noticed it, of all things in that bathroom though, that could be a sign of some sort. Whether it is a sign of your patron goddess or a sign that you need to add delicious tasting fruits that are full of antioxidants into your diet is unclear.

Personally, I wouldn't consider it a sign in a big, major way.

In fact, it's probably you just seeing Persephone in your daily life, as you've obviously been thinking about her. Similar to how people are in a relationship and see things that remind them of their significant other randomly...something like that.

I've had weird coincidences involving many deities. One that comes to mind, I was up late at night talking with my brother about mythology and right as I said Athena, something on the TV said it as well, like an echo. This doesn't mean Athene is my patron, though. Other times (and oddly this happens to me a lot), I'll be interested in something and out of nowhere I'll come across something about it on TV. This happened before with the Oracle of Delphi, I was reading about it online, went into my room, put on History Channel and to my surprise there was a show about it (and I had no prior knowledge of it being on). Things like this I see as nudges as going in the right direction, but not anything major.

What I suggest is ask Persephone for a sign or indication of her presence. Something definable and clear. And when/if it's given, give thanks with an offering or libation or something.

Also, in Greek myth pomegranates are also sacred to other goddesses. From Theoi.com:

Aphrodite
POMEGRANATE: SACRED FRUIT (http://www.theoi.com/Olympios/AphroditeTreasures.html#Plants) The pomegranate was sacred to Aphrodite who was said to have first planted it on the island of Kypros. The fruit symbolised female fertility and the marital loss of virginity with the consumation of marriage (from both its red stains and rich seeds).

Hera
(their page about her is incomplete, but here's this)
She wore a crown on her head, adorned with the Charites and Horae; in the one hand she held a pomegranate, and in the other a sceptre headed with a cuckoo.

And possibly Demeter. I thought I saw references before.

ETA: They're also associated with Adonis, Attis and Kybele.

A sign is often your subconscious screaming at you. If the sight of a shampoo makes you think maybe Persephone is calling you, she probably is. You are clearly drawn to her, and that doesn't happen for no reason.

You consider it a sign, you fill your mind with it,
you correspond and organize the world around you according to your view point, and you have here presented a point of yours.
You already speculate about it, the sign has already affected you.
It has got attention, energy is projected on this by the discussion, time has been spent, thoughts has been spent, it becomes a part of your life, it is meaningful.
It is a sign

I think given the amount of goddesses mentioned by Agaliha, I think it might be best to think about what you want from a deity instead of going by signs.

The way i see it is that the shampoo may have triggered a Magikal page, or an inner intuition. This is the universes way of telling you what you are feeling. You have to take things for what they are worth and worth is decided on an individual basis. If you feel that it is a sign, meditate and if the feeling persists then you can argue it is a page/sigh. Do NOT ignore your intuition, it is there for a reason
