Greetings all,

I'm a lurker I admit it *caught red handed*. Anyhow I recently purchased a very attractive Tarot Deck; one which I wanted to be MY spiritual deck. I've been interested in Tarot now for quite some time but hadn't actually got down to studying it till today.

The deck is the Tarot Art Nouveau (Antonella Castelli). Are any of you familiar with it??? Views? Opinions? Anything welcome!!! :) I've confronted the pack a few times and get the impression that the deck will be reasonably ok to consult. Many of the images, designs and symbols are very similar to each other and I think it might be a toughen to get any detailed interpretation from. The deck is very representative of the female sex and does, I think, portray more intimate values of life (very tastefully). This I admit pleased me endlessly when I first went through the pack as I do find this side of life to be of particular importance.

I've just started perusing through an "Encyclopedia" of the Tarot (just a book really... very attractive and informs one of the basics nicely) and as for applying theory to practical... I'm a while off that mark yet.

Anyhow I just wanted to know if any of you had any dvice as to "attacking" your first "pet" deck. I've read a few reviews about this deck and it seems like the art is more ignificant than the actual use of the deck as a divination tool.
Look forward to hearing from y'all soon

There are some images for anyone interested. I have this deck, but I admit, I only have it because I loved the artwork so much. I get distracted by the artwork. I just don't get very good readings from it. So, I don't really have any advice I guess

Every now and then, I have this strange fear that you and I are the same person Mithrea. . . we have similar responses to so much.

Anyway, what Mithrea said - I also have this deck, but more for the art than anything else. I don't relate well to the images for reading purposes - but they're really pretty and remind me of Muncha poster art.

I am much more at home with my other decks, but i think I probably need to work with this one more and get a handle on the symbols the artist used.

I was surfing yesterday at came across a deck that I think I've fallen in love with... bloody expensive though! It's called the "Miracle" Ceck and it was designed by a Reiko Shimizu. If you're not already familiar with it, it's actually based on anime style Japanese art. I also came across some others decks of similar style, one of which was called "Passion Tarot" by Kao Yung. They're simply goooorrrgggeeeeouuusss!!!!! What d'ya reckon? ^.~
Unfortunately if I were to get these I'd have to order them from the US. Maybe one day....
Also got from the library today "The Idiots guide to Tarot and Fortune Telling". Just thought it might have some interesting points. I've thought about getting the Wicca and Wichcraft version of this series and it did actually look rather good. To be frank... I'm FED UP of seeing the same BASIC wicca and witchraft books on the shelves here in the UK... brrrrrr Mind you first things first,... I spose I should get to grips with some practical.
