Need "costume" help

As I've mentioned a time or two as of late, I have a masquerade ball that I'm going to next Friday (the 24th)... It's a theme of "A Night of Darkness" and so I figured I'd try to work with that a little instead of going with the "black tie" option...

~So here's what I'm wearing (I think), first...
I have a red and black satin-y corset top that hooks down the front and laces up the back... and I'm going to wear that with a black long skirt that's not form fitting but isn't overly loose either that ties in back and almost has a bit of a short train...

~And here's where I need help...
1) As some of you know, my hair's a chestnut color (not too too dark, but darker than a medium brown) with funky, chunky red streaks in it... I want to put it up in some way, but I have NO idea what would be fitting with the clothing/theme choice
2) I don't know what to do as far as my makeup goes... I have a lot of makeup to choose from, but I'm not quite sure how to apply (not sure that's the right word, but I hope you get what I mean)

I guess that's pretty much it... But I thought you guys would have the best advice I could possibly find anywhere I could even dream of looking... Any help/ideas/advice would be so totally appreciated you have no idea...

Moving up to JT. :) Don't want this thread to get lost in here.

What I would do, is have your hair in a loose bun in the back, maybe with some strands hanging down from it back there, plus some loose in the front too. (I think that would look neat) :)

But, like Azure said, it would be easier to do if we were actually there.

Plus, I'm not very good with hairstyles/make-up. 8O (I get ideas in my head, but they don't transfer well)

:lol: Don't worry, VB, there should be LOTS of pictures, and if I can get my aunt to bring her digicam, then I will be able to get some on here for everyone relatively quickly!

I'm SO excited, this thing's been in the planning for a YEAR!! It's an annual AIDS/HIV fundraiser, and this year Mom was on the board for it, so I got to help out a lot too... The people involved in this thing are AMAZING and I think's it's going to be the best ball EVER!
