I wanted to try the pendulum as a divination tool and I was wondering if anyone has any personal advice or can reccommend books and preferably websites (there is a limited selection of "New Age" books in our bookstores)

I'm learning the art of pendulum reading at the moment, the 'yes-no' type, not the more complex type. The one piece of information I can give you is this - Always make sure your pendulum works for you, even before you buy it. Put your hand close to you, and if it responds well to you, you should feel something - a jolt, a tingle, anything. I'd like to give you more help, but I don't think I'm 'qualified' enough yet ;) And as for books, I personally have never come across any to do with pendulum reading...doesn't mean they're not out there though! Have you tried all the regular websites (amazon etc) and searching for pendulums?

It's not my favorite form of divination. I always felt like I was influencing it :(
Here's a huge thread on this art that you might want to browse through:

I tried a bunch of searches but I always seem to get sites that are trying to sell me pendulums instead if giving me any usefull info.
Thanks Freyja, I'll check out that thread now

I hear ya. I have an illness support group list and when we look for information on our illness, we usually get sites that are trying to sell vitamins or herbs.
I've found some good sites since I've moderated here and they're in various threads. If I ever get time I'll try to get them together in one stuck thread.
