Now I've been practicing for along time and I never realy thought about who's who as far as which one to do a circle or rite or ask for help around. I guess that I was afraid to say something wrong or ask the wrong Goddess or God for help or to thank them in the wrong way . So my practicing has been for the most part pretty genralized. I love my beliefs but I wish to know my deities alot better. Your addvise is very appreciated. Thank you

Welcome, Lady Eryn! :sunny:
I think that you should follow your instincts. Who do you think would be right for a given situation? Do you have a patron goddess or god? Or maybe you want to ask a specific deity for guidance. For example, Imbolc is coming up. Maybe Brigid can help you in your ritual for that occasion. Do you follow a specific pantheon?

Mnemosyne, I don't realy fallow anything compleatly. I've been on my own for a long time so I just would get any book on the matter that I could find and what ever I liked I would incorporate into my practicing. It hasn't been untill reasitly that I could go in to any book store and find books of a more detailed nature when it comes to the diffrent Goddesses and Gods.

I think that you should follow your heart. Since you have been following your own path for a while, it sounds like you have some grounding. You don't follow a specific pantheon, so how about reading up on general pagan books. Also, there are books on gods and goddesses from across the world. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. The members on this site are so helpful.

As Mnemosyne said, I don't believe that you can do anything wrong when your intent is pure and sincere.
I made a lot of mistakes early in my practice. Not only were there no negative consequences, but my magick worked - and quite well, I might add!
You might want to browse the stuck thread on finding your god or goddess. There's a lot of information that others have shared about how we found our patron deities.

For a long time I also wasn't sure what to do....so I asked the universe to send some signs to me...(at that point i didn't have a God or Goddess that I chose to dedicate myself and my work too) the neat thing is though....a sign came to me in a dream, there are so many really incredible practices around the world and all of them are tools for you to get in touch with who you are and what you'd like to work on becoming! There is no pressure and the Gods are never too busy to hear your incantations, wants and desires. They love you and want you to reach your greatest potential in life! Well that's my take on it....!
Peace
