Just curious if anyone on here has worked with the nine sacred herbs? I'm no green thumb, but am interested in utilising them more.
If you do use them, what do you use them for? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Nine Sacred Herbs listed in the Anglo-Saxon Lacnunga manuscript?

If so, my use of them has been rather limited, as in I'll give them in offering to Odin.

Those are the ones I mean. Sorry for not clarifying that earlier.

I eat Fennel because it's healthy, good for your teeth, keeps obesity at bay, and delicious to boot. Ditto for cress, a little for Crab apples. I have found no reason to use Mugwort, Nettle, Betony, or Chervil frequently, but have stocks on hand. I cook with Thyme all the time. I drink Chamomile tea before bed. I will also include these herbs in ritual.

Mind those seeds that were found in the Oseberg Ship Burial. However, you may wish to leave that particular herb to experienced Gothi and Gythia like wyrd_dottir and myself. :hahugh:

I use mugwort a fair bit. I burn it like incense for ritual and rune making.

As for that other herb, I've known plenty of people with far less experience than myself who use it far more frequently. Who's up for some Oseberg brownies?

Wait a minute! I just checked your public profile, and based on your age, I'd say I've got at least a decade of "experience" on you.
Way to pull the old man's beard!

I figured that might tip you off on my little joke. I would hardly call myself 'experienced'...well, not with a straight face, anyway, and I'm sure we'd all agree that you're old enough to know whether or not you're prepared for the mysteries of the Oseberg herb. :hyper:
