This weeks been going down hill for me. My dad just got laid off...he wont be out of his job til friday..but my mom still has her job and my dad still has another job but its out of town...so that should keep us doing well til the house is sold...then after the house is sold my dad's selling the boat and moving to Arakansas. As for me..i'm staying in Austin, i have a job and a life here....plus i'm a college student...and i'm just finally getting use to things..i dont wanna move again so i'm staying on my own. My parents wont be moving til the summer probably. I have a part time job, i'm a college student..and pretty soon i'll be living on my own. I thought maybe i'd be okay with the help of my bf..but turns out he's planning to transfer from UT to Baylor which is in Waco..an hour and half away. His best friend is there and he said he'll have a study budy plus less distraction for him over there...Austin's a bigger city..and he's now thinking maybe we're moving too fast...that he's not ready for me move in with him. Which is ironic seeing as how i never said i was going to move in with him..i'm staying but i can manage some how on my own. So stress i dont know what to do....i can get another part time job but that might not leave me room for school. So i'm thinking how about a work at home job thing..like stuffing mail...i dont know which one's are real and which are scams so if anyone has any suggestion i'd be so grateful. I know it's long..sorry.

Check with your school about work study programs.

when things go wrong I always try to think that everything happened for a reason and think about the worst possible scenario of what could have happened. for example a few months ago i got into a little fender bender in the hospital parking lot (not that big a deal but it was my dads car and I was convinced that he was going to kill me) So in the depths of depression I convinced myself that since that accident made me a better driver, if it hadn't happened I would have gotten in a big accident and someone could have been seriously hurt.... I know it's a little morbid but at least it keeps me thankful for the things that i still have.

i know everything happens for a reason....moving to arkansas my parents would probably better off i mean they did plan on moving out of Austin eventually. My bf's decided to stay here in austin even if he does move i'm sure we'll be okay, he's also asked me to move in with him....but i think it's more because he thinks he might lose me or i might get really upset and leave him or that i cant handle it on my own; either way i still would be more comfortable if i had another way of earning more money and still have enough time for schooling along with my current part time job. I'd much rather be safe then sorry...plus i'd like to prove to everyone that i can take care of myself.

*hugs*
living on your own is hard, but I htink everyone should do it at least once. What about finding a shared accomodation? I'm sure in the college there are lots of students looking for a roommate.
As far as work goes, Yvonne is right check with your school... my best friend worked for one of her professors typing up lessons for him. Ask around. Even if there is something somewhat related to what you want to do...

I have lived on my own since I was 15, and don't worry, you will make it work... if I can, you surely will! :)

thanx. but i've tried at my school...no luck they just gave me a list of jobs i'm not qualified for....so i search for a job on my own...so i have one now. What i'm looking for is a home base job so i can do it on my free time without taking time off of my studies. Plus right now i'm attending a community college...so not much luck there...i just wanna get through with my two years there and then i'm hoping things will work out for the better when i transfer to a bigger school.
