Merry Meet all!

I haven't had much of a chance to post on here - I get too engrossed reading what everyone else has written! I have been following the classes (which are impressive, I love reading everyones' thoughts and Dagda! What dedication!), and I've spent a lot of time with Joan Bunning's site too.

I have a quick query - I've been experimenting a little with reading on different coloured backgrounds - the best results I have are when I lay the spread on a wooden table, or a plain yellow cotton bedspread... red seems to do really strange things - I couldn't draw any cups or Queens for three days when I tried it! Just wands, wands and more wands!

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Heellloooo!! Great to have you here and talking Tarot with us! :)

Thats a really cool point youve brought up about the different coloured cloths you can use for different readings...
I had heard that you should use red for a reading to find out your ambitions and desires so that totally fits with your wands!
Pink for Love ~ so maybe try this out to get more cups and queens!
You can use a colour guide to work out which colour of cloth to use for what reading. Purple ~ physic, Orange ~ health...
Even make up your own

I havent tried using different cloths to read with but will now :)
~ I find wood works very well for me too and read in my house on my wooden coffee table, I also carry a black silk cloth with my cards to read from when Im out and about. And think for me that black is the best probally because the cards really stand out and I find it doesnt distract from anything else. Saying that I would love a purple cloth :)

I think as with everything in magic everyone has there one ways ~ what works for you may not work for someone else, so just keep on experimenting and exploring!!
Thanks for the ideas too ~ I will be exploring tonight :D

MM Silver!

I'll have to try the red again! I think that (for me at least) yellow and wood seem to be good neutral colours for general readings - which is mostly what I've been trying when I've been experimenting with colours! I am going to try again asking different questions on different colours.

This is what I love about this site - all these ideas bouncing around just widens your perception even more!

BB Silver!

<in a small voice> I know you do readings for SOOOOOO many people here, but do you think you might draw a card for me sometime? :)

I haven't really thought about the background.....I do use laycloths, but they are usually dark or medium blue as they have celestial designs on them.

Guess it's time to start experimenting! :D

Thanks for getting the creativity flowing! :sunny:

...the things that affect me most with the Tarot come out of the blue and without me thinking at all! (Some would say that is the state of play all the time...)

I've done some more experimenting... for all my complaints, red is turning out to be a great colour if I'm asking about what sort of action should I take (work, mainly!) while dark blue and green seem to bring out the best in more spiritual questions. Yellow seems to work well for a non-specific reading.

I've also been trying different places - my usual place in the spare bedroom is great ( very familiar and not normal the centre of hustle and bustle) and in the kitchen next to the french doors seems to work well (the view of the garden is calming) but I really can't do anything at all in the same room as a tv! Even when it's off!

Oh, and thanks Dagda for doing such a wonderful job on the classes.... You're a star! :D :D :D

Bright Blessings all,

Kiya

Thats brill! Ive been experimenting too :)
Tried red a few times last week and found all my readings to be about desires and ambitions too ~ lots of wands! and then tried blue, green and white over the weekend and got lots of funny results accordinly ~ I cant really believe it but, its amazing that the colour of the cloth does effect the cards!!
and yeah the place you read them too :D

I drew a card for you on Friday night - haven't been able to get to a computer til today so here goes -

I drew the two of cups, which is one of my favourite cards. There's a strong attraction between you and someone else - not necesarrily in 'that' way (but possibly!) and this seems to be bubbling up under the surface. I also feel that there is a truce between you and someone (the same person?) over a difference of opinion, which is very emotional and probably not very logical. I get the feeling you have decided to agree to differ.

Drew this card for you on a wooden table in the kitchen by the garden door!

BB Silver,

Wow! I'm glad the card said something to you! I'm either spot on or miles off!

You sound really happy, I hope it all works out OK. Me, I've never been able to stay friends with my ex's (mind you, my taste in men was pretty apalling in the past!) so I wish you all the best.

Ahhhhh.... I feel really good now I've read your post! I think I'll celebrate with a cup of tea!

BB :D :D :D :D :D :D

Wow! I never thought about using different colored cloths to read on. I just use my table, desk or floor. Sometimes even the bed.

I'll have to experiment with that. Thanks for the idea!
