I found this at work yesterday.

When you thought I wasn't looking (Written by a former child)

A message every adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned that we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from you r eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared that I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, "Thanks for all the tings I saw when you thought I wasn't looking."

LITTLE EYES SEE A LOT.

Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher or friend) influences the life of a child. How will you touch the life of someone today? Just by showing this to someone else you will probably make them at least think about their influence on others.

Your welcome. I had tears in my eyes when I read that, everyone at work was like "Why are you crying" and I showed them, and all the women had tears in their eyes too.

That was great. When I first read the title and the first line I thought it was going to be negative things that kids see, but this was refreshing. I like it when I see Trey do something like say excuse me or thank you without us prodding him and I like to think it is by example rather than us constantly telling him to do so.

THat was wonderful! I thought it was going tobenegative too..like cuss words and such lol...but it is so true...alot of adults nowadays don't really care what the kids see and what they don't...it seems that things they need to know are not getting across and the things we really don't want them knowing they do. I think the reason children are so great is because it allows us to think on a level that as adults we otherwise would not touch upon in our thinking...very well written! 8O :shift:

Like others, I thought... oh crap... what do I do that Amber sees when I don't think she does? But that reminded me of the good things I do that she see when I don't realize that she sees it... of course... it also reminded me that I must stop drinking my cups of tea/coffee with the teaspoon still in it. She said to me the other day when I handed her her drink, "I want a spoon in it just like you do, mommy." Or this morning when she took her kiddies magazine with her to the toilet... so she could read 'just like you do mommy'....

Every once in a while I find something that makes me think of my kids and start crying. This did it for me today. And it made me wish my babies were here with me all the time, and made me think of how special the little time I do get with them is.
