View Full Version : "Bad" Suit or "Weak" Suit

Do any of you have a suit that you're weaker in?
Personally, I have trouble with pentacles. I always feel like I'm not quite sure about the meanings of the cards or I never see how they fit into a reading, perhaps because I tend to associate them with money/material wealth all the time. Sometimes that just doesn't jive with whatever the rest of the cards are talking about.
Advice?

Both Wands & Pentacles are weak suits for me - more Wands than Pentacles now that I think about it.
Though, what I've done is spent some time just writing down what I get from a certain card that I have problems with. (For me, one of the most difficult cards is the 7 of Pentacles - I get so many different ideas from it, I'm never sure of which one is the right one...)
Try to take notice of everything in the card, colour, characters, scenery, etc. And try to piece them together into a "story" about the figure in the card. :)
Hope this helps

I find myself weak in Pentacles as well. Now that I've changed to reading playing cards I'm weaker in Diamonds, finding it difficult to decide whether the suit should represent currency or riches in all forms... etc.

Diamonds and Pentacles are the same suit, so maybe you are onto something there!

The hardest ones I have problems with are the court cards. I find them the toughest to read.

I don't interpret them as the same suit. For me Pentacles is closer to Clubs. My suits in Tarot and cards don't directly corrollate.
but thanks :D

I find these are the ones I have difficulty with too. They can represent so many things at once.....

Sometimes they give me problems (especially Queen. )
I find, though, that Knights & Pages/Princesses are much easier to interpret. Do you find that there are certain Court cards that give you more problems than others? (Or is it just me? :T)

I just have a few cards that I perpetually have trouble with meanings for - the six of Pentacles and the six of cups are always perplexing for me. So is the five of wands, and the Hierophant. With those cards, I never feel like I manage to get a hold on exactly what they mean to say, unless the rest of the reading is just crystal clear.

ack! Yes! The Princess cards (I use the Goddess Tarot) always befuddle me, and the King cards sometimes too. Especially the Kings of Staves and Pentacles.
The Prince or Page cards I have down pretty well--but do you ever find that you're completely unsure whether the court card represents a person or something else? I'm never totally sure.

Same here! What I found helpful is to pull clarifying cards when in doubt.

For some reason I have trouble with Aces. They are supposed to be easy, but they just have so many possibilities!
I think wands are my hardest suit. For some reason it's just hard for me to nail them down.

My advice.....go with the first things that pop into your conscious thoughts. Write down the words as they come.
EX:
Ace of Pentacles: coins, round, path, garden, display.
Once you have a couple things....you can focus on those few words and bring the story out from there.
Maybe starting a new financial path....
Showing off what you have.....
clearing the way for opportunities to come to you....
etc.
Feed back from the person you are reading from also helps you keep on track.
When I read here.....I try to throw out a couple possibilities...just in case I'm not on the same wave length. ;)
