I ran across this rare deck of tarot cards to buy. At this time, I have no idea how much is known about this particular deck... if anyone can help me with the limited information I have, that would be great. I would really like to purchase this deck from my friend.
This is all the info he had on them at the time:
These cards were produced by "THE CARING PSYCHIC FAMILY" with illustration designs by VISION TELEMEDIA, INC. It is my understanding they were a promotional deck and were never intended to be made public for general sale. From all indications only a limited number of decks were produced.
He says that they are extremely rare, out-of-print 22-card "major" Arcana deck in mint condition.

I think i might have heard this somewhere before...do you have any info--designs, for example? I will look though my decks because I think someone gave me a similar deck that they got off eBay.
Caveat Emperator! Let the buyer beware! Especially on places like eBay where you are buying something sight-unseen - people with no clue add the terms 'RARE!' or 'UNIQUE' to stuff that is selling at flea markets for $5, so don't be swindled into thinking it's rare when all that means is the seller did not do a search, knows nothing about the cards, and thinks no one will notice. I once saw a deck for sale in eBay selling for a high price. I was able to find the same deck online and could buy it and have it shipped directly from Italy FOR LESS than it was selling on ebay!

Yeah, thanks for the warning. I finally found info as to what each card meant... that was part of the stuff I was looking for. Now I just need instructions on how to use the tarot deck. As you can see, I am new to this whole shebang... and need guidance. Please tell me anything you can. I have no idea where my friend got these cards at. I think he found them in his house somewhere in a old moving box... beats me. When I see him again, I'll get the cards... but I do know what they stand for... hope this helps.

Hi!
No, dear, those are the normal names of the Majors. What I meant is a description of the design on the cards.
The deck I have has card backs of purple clouds and says "Caring Psychic Family' (tm) 1-800-432-0777 (Don't call- it's disconnected!)
The High Priestess is in mulberry robes, sitting with a cat draped around her neck like a kelinski, and has a large book on her lap, and is holding a key in her left hand. There is a moon on her pointy Wizard hat. (she looks more like the Hierophant than the Heirophant- who has a scroll-traditionally what the HP carries).
If this is the deck you are being offered as 'RARE!", laugh in their face and offer them $4 for it.

Ok. Sorry I misread ur question. Anyways! I'm not sure what the deck looks like but I'm only giving like $5 for 2 sets. I'm not that worried about it. But I'd really like to know how to use the cards. I found some info on this site with what the cards meant and all but I'm still not to sure how to use them.. can u help me??

Have you had a chance to look through the stuck threads at the top of this forum? There's a great one called Help for Newbies. And the next one is the Tarot course thread. As well, there's lots of discussions on the individual cards all through this forum. But check out those two threads first. :)

WOW! A RARE DECK FOR $2.50 !!! LOL!!!
Sorry, but Athena, that is the same deck that a friend gave me- she bought 6 of them for almost nothing!
Other than the excellent advice others have said so far (and please don't think I'm criticisng you by laughing), please note: You are buying only the Major Arcana, not a complete Tarot deck that has 78 cards. You can learn to read with them, but read some of the threads for newbies first.

Isn't that the Miss Cleo deck, that was being promoted right before she got in all that trouble?
If I were you, I'd get it. It's supposed to be a surprisingly good deck...
