hi guys,
Just wondering what you all love to do that makes you feel free and alive.
Mine is skating. I love to get on the ice and go fast. I feel more alive and at home on skates than I do on my feet.
Also I feel alive when I'm at the ocean. Not near any cities or anything. My favourite places are along the west coast of the Olympic National Park.

Nice question. The things that make me feel most free and alive are (in no particular order):
Laying in the sunshine
Making love
Being outside when the wind is blowing
Walking/Hiking through a beautiful, natural area
Celebrating the Full Moons
Being able to read a book all day long without interupption
Swinging--on a swing-set
Dancing

hmm. . .
Riding my bike has always given me this huge sense of freedom. Always lessened my stress and cleared my mind. (too bad my bike kind of went bye-bye >.< stupid people. I left it locked up at school a week - and I guess it was too long!! >.< jerks. I need a bike LOL)
Wandering makes me feel a bit better, especially running off in the woods or near the ocean. Though sometimes these things also serve to remind me of how trapped I really feel. . . so. . . I'm not sure.
Swinging on a swing. Riding my bike. Singing without a care. Swimming (sometimes). Talking to people I love. Starting on a long trip early in the morning (I love riding in the car over the golden gate bridge, watching the sun rise. mmm. . . )

I'd have to say
Sitting outside and reading
Just sitting in nature and watching it
being with animals
looking at really beautiful natural places
Thats my 2 cents :/

Also, the ultimate aside from the other thingsI mentioned is connecting with people...that makes me feel more free than anything else does....

Road trips. I feel so alive when I'm off somewhere in my car, the windows open and music playing. They can be short ones too. Like going up to Woodstock, NY. I love that town and driving up there just gives me this feeling. It's great.
I love music too. Live concerts, radio, cd's...doesn't matter.
Doing anything fun with my son.
Hiking, playing ball. Getting that flash of inspiration and then quickly writing it down.
Laughing, at a movie, a joke, with your friends or your family. My new motto lately has been "If you're not laughing, you're not living." :D

...standing at the beach, at the edge of the water, where the waves can reach me and I can feel the wind and the sand and the water and sun. No noise but the sounds of the ocean, and the smell of the sea. Just me and the Earth....I am free then.

I feel most free when I'm walking around on a nice day. "Nice" being warm or hot, or during warm rain. Warm rain rules!
I especially like walking around in busy parts of town. I know, not much of a nature lover, but civilization is my thang.
I also feel free when I'm watching a sunrise/sunset (see? I can love nature sometimes, too!), playing my guitar, singing along with a good CD, or just thinking. Oh, and I love hanging with my pets, too.

anything to do with nature, rain, lake, park, forest, whatever, walking, sleeping, meditating. In fact when I was little I used to take a blanket and sleep in front of the bathroom door whenever anyone would shower... I love the sound of rain.
oh yeah, and of course... making love :)

being IN the water. I feel best when i am swimming/floating in the water. A bath or shower will do also.
I like to be in nature but the best is water.
I also am free when I take a vacation by myself...doing whatever I want to do. No time limit or taking votes on what we are doing. ( I can usually agree with myself :) )

Many things make me feel free,
many have been mentioned here, but the activity that makes me feel utterly free is downhill skiing on a crystal clear winter day.
hands down favorite!

That's what i was trying to get out blue owl, even before i learned to truly listen to nature, spending time with it and its animals and inhabitants always made me feel better. When i used to get mad or sad, i would climb to the top of a tree ( when i was young i was a champion tree climber, everyone thought i was part monkey, hehehe, i still am =) and then i would sometimes even fall asleep just listening in wonder and awe to the sounds of nature
I also love visiting new places of splendor and beauty
Visitng ancient sights
Visiting places with large energy offspring ( stonehenge )

playing my bassoon! That probably sounds random but sometimes when I'm playing it feels like the notes coming out are my real voice, rather than when I speak.
Also,
dancing
singing
making love
running
laughing until I cry!

Singing...definately singing, and I feel very very childlike and alive during ritual. That probably sounds silly I know..but I feel my most vibrant when I am in circle doing my work.

<high Five> Tranquil...I miss climbing trees...in fact this past bday for me was alot of reminiscing (SP?) on things I did when I was younger and how I have lost touch with some of that over the years...and I think our spirit is most free when we get in touch with some of the child - like things that we all did as kids...imagination and such and it would be great if we could get back some of that innocence that allows us to feel truly free...with no worries and to forget some of the hurtful things that happen in life when growing up that causes that "innocence" to be lost. FOr me nature is that way...I used to roam around places all by myself with no fear of getting hurt or kidnaped or something...it is amazing that I survived my child hood without some freak picking me up lol...but the one thing I have not lost sinceI was a child is the way I have with animals...all my friends here that have pets, their animals are mine once I walk into the door! lol...blows them away!

When I view a night sky
when I watch a yard full of lightning bugs
when I have nothing planned for a day
when I can read a book and do nothing else
when I take off for an unknown destination and just drive
when I am on vacation from work
when I sit on the porch with a glass of lemonade or tea in the summer

Hi, I'm new here and thought I just join on in!
Feeling free is my motto in life which sometimes keeps me at arms length from people, but I what makes me feel the free-est (sp) is being in the woods in a cabin with my dog and just relaxing, meditating and reading. mmmmm, I wish I was there now.....

Yes blueowl, even though im 16 now i still sometime will climb just to think and reflect, not only has it always been fun but it truly is a great place to get away from all of the other things of the world and just be in your own little place. Sometimes i even meditate up there, since i do a lot of meditation, even though you could still consider me a child at 16 it brings out my YOUNGER child as you said =) Animals and nature and the earth and energy or martial arts are anything that i love to do
