View Full Version : Anyone want a reading?

Hi! I'm relatively new to tarot, and so far have only done readings for myself (which is hard, because I keep being forced to acknowledge truths about myself I'd rather not know ;) ). Anyway, practice makes perfect and so I'd like to start reading for other people and I thought this would be a less intimidating way to start out. So if anyone wants a reading (I don't expect anything in return), either pm me or reply to this post. Thanks!

Yep, me too!

I am in the process of trying to buy a house (getting started on the mortgage and making an offer on the house) I would love to see what you get for an outcome to the situation! :D

If you're looking for more people, I would love a reading! :) I don't have any specific questions...just a general one would be great.

I wouldn't mind having a reading, either :)

Ok, everyone-I have enough guinea pigs so no more requests at the moment. :) Stacy, shnen, and Flaire-do you guys want a general reading or do you have a specific question? For everyone else, I'll have the readings done by this weekend. Looking forward to the challenge...

hmm.. well, can't find any questions, but maybe to focus on love life (I know: pathetic), ya know? Don't know too much about tarot and if it can work that way..

Anyway, if what I just said sounds confusing, than just general reading would be fine :)

Btw, thank you! :) :)

I think it would go under general, but I've got a huge decision to make.... Just wondering how things will turn out. :)

Done with all the current requests-wow, I can see what people mean about doing practice. I feel so much closer to my deck and have discovered some great new spreads. I've also discovered that my deck likes to be asked things about itself at times. *grin* Anyway, thanks so much to all the volunteers-I feel like I've learned as much about tarot doing those readings as I did reading all the info I have. If anyone else wants a reading I'd be glad to oblige-and Dagda, I wasn't sure about posting on the swap thread because I don't really need a reading of my own right now, lol.

Sylve did a great job with mine ... how about everyone else...were you all happy with your readings? I would like to k now about the triangle spread...that one is new to me Sylv....what other spreads work well for you?

Very well done, Sylv. :)

Thanks Flaire and Blueowl. :D As to spreads, the triangle spread can be found here: http://www.webcatt.net/TarotPack/spreads.html I really like it for future spreads because it doesn't have anything about the past-it has a present, immediate future, long-term future, and central influence. Also, each of the time periods have two cards, which I think is nicer-it also makes it easier to interpret since there's only four basic positions.
I used the star spread for Flaire (I'm pretty sure it was Flaire...), which can also be found on the above page. It's more for talking about one issue in your life, and examines it from a bunch of different angles-another 7 card spread.
For the love questions I used the 6 card love spread that takes the shape of an L from this forum: http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?threadid=351&highlight=spread It's not so much for predicting future love life as examining how your relationships work-I liked it and the people I used it for said it was accurate.
The general spread I used was the 5-card Eliphas Levi Wheel Spread which I found at the tarot faq site: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/2377/Layouts/Eliphas.html It's kind of like the first part of the Celtic Cross-it has the present, a waning and waxing influence, a subconscious/hidden card, and a synthesis. I liked it. :)
Oh-and the spread I used to ask my deck questions was the yes-no spread found somewhere in this forum. Of course I can't find it now, but you shuffle the cards while asking the question and then you begin making a pile of cards, face up. You stop at either an ace or when you hit 13 cards, whichever comes first. Do that two more times. If you have 3 aces it's a yes, 2 aces it's a yes, but...(the but=card that isn't an ace), 1 ace it's a no, but...(the but=ace), and no aces it's a no.
Those are the spreads I used-this post has gotten pretty long. :)

Hm. Well...could I have one? I've done rune readings on myself for this, but having a backup would be cool :) I want to know where me and my boyfriend's relationship is going...if it's going to go where we want it to.

Aradia, of course you can have one. I'll get to it some time within the next week. :) Phoenix, we mustn't allow that child to be disappointed, now can we? *grin* Just let me know if you have a specific question or just want a general one.
