Okay, I have a really hard-to-see-what-to-do situation. This involves real estate. We currently are leasing a home in a small town. It's set up as a lease to own and the lease ends in December 2003. After waiting to see how much money would be awarded my husband in a lawsuit, we've decided we just couldnt afford to buy it outright. It's a huge house (2300 sq ft on a small .5 acre lot).
So, we have our old house in the country that we're renting. We're thinking we could sink what's left of the lawsuit money (after paying off all the credit cards) into remodeling that house. It's only 1200 sq ft (there are 4 of us) and 1 bathroom....no central heat or air (woodstove - I froze for 6 years) but its on the prettiest piece of land - big old trees and a good size pond and a natural spring in the woods. I've seen faeries in the yard there.
We're also looking at other properties, but we always seem to end up cash strapped at the end of the month...and any house that would accomodate us is in the $150K range, which I can't afford on my salary. My hubby is handicapped and is Mr. Mom, so we basically have one income since SS payments aren't much to speak of.
Wow, sorry for the length. If anyone can give me some advice it would be much appreciated. My head is reeling from so many options + details.
Thanks much & Bright Blessings ~*~
