I want to share a spread with you that I have been working on for a few days. I hope you like it and if it needs tweaking suggestions are welcome. I have researched past life spreads on the net and none of them were as in depth as I wanted regarding other people in my life. This type of reading is for people who want to know if they knew someone in a past life and what the nature of that relationship was. The thing is it is a reading dealing with a variable spread that depends on the significators drawn. I will give three different examples.

Here we go.
Pull out the magician and priestess cards from the deck. Shuffle until you feel comfortable and don't know which is which-of course. If it is the mage you were a male..priestess you were female. Set this card aside. Put other back in deck.

Now. Pull out the these cards from the deck.
Empress-mother
Emperor-father
Lovers- a lover. maybe a spouse or lover..maybe an affair?
Prince of cups-brother
Princess of cups-sister
The sun- son
The moon-a daughter
the Star- another relative
The heirophant-a close friend, Business partner, or another unrelated person of some significance.
The Hermit- Did not know in a past life, this is a new relationship- reading is generally over. Or ask about another person.

Think about the person you are wondering about and shuffel the cards. I believe that most people who are close to you in this life had a similar significant importance to you in a past life. Once you are done shuffle draw a card. The card you pick signifies the relationship you had in this particular life. (I was thinking about a specific person in my life and I drew the Princess of cups and I thought.. No way I call misdeal..there is no way. So I shuffeled again thoroughly and what did I draw..The princess of cups. Next time I'll trust the cards.) Well my first example of how to procede will be if you drew the Lovers. Put the other cards back in the deck. Set the mage or priestess card and the lovers card next to eachother.

Priestess Lovers
1. Next card 2. second card signify personality
3 _________ 4 Pysical environment
5__________6 Childhood
7__________8 Health
9__________10 Work, career, education
11_________12 family life-if the two contrast
it may indicate an affair.
13_________14 Spiritual
15_________16 Goals, Ambitions
17_________18 Achievement
19_________20 Main lesson of life
21_________22 Things carried over into this life
_____23 nature of relationship-was it good or struggle, based on
money or convenience, love or lust, etc.
_____24 physical environment-may differ?
_____25 What was gained
_____26Carry overs from relationship

You can always skip some of the questions 1&2-21&22 and maybe ask some more of the specific relationship questions. (How can you tell if you had kids or not?)

Example 2
You________ Heirophant
______1.Nature of relationship- You draw 3 of coins, penticles. Perhaps this was a business venture.
______2. was it lucrative?
______3. What hopes?
______4. What was accomplished
______5.What was learned from this relationship-main lesson.
______6.Carry overs
Some of these may be redundant. You can come up with more.

Example 3
You__________Emperor(father)
_______1. Nature of relationship

Now you can go on with the examples given in the lovers reading or just yourself.. If the relationship was bad there may be clues as to why in the readings for the fathers childhood and environment. The whole reading may give clues to relationship ups and downs in this life too if you are curious to know. If you go on when you are finish with the
20______21. carry overs
you may ask

____22. What was learned by this relationship
____23. What carried over from the relationship

I hope you like it. If you have any suggestions let me know. I hope if you like it you use it. Don't ask me for a reading. I am not ready for that yet. :)

Now for my own questions. I have trouble interpreting the cards in a past life reading.. for example. In environment you get a court card...Do you ignore the person and look at the environment? What if the deck shows a person with abstract background?
Also in a reading I did I got the princess of Swords as goals and ambitions. How would one interpret that?

And as I asked in last post. How can you ask if you had kids. How would you tell. Yes if its a good card, no if negative, disregarding the actual meaning?

well, i probably shouldn't even be posting, cause i don't think i can help you much!

i am pretty much an intuitive reader. i will look at the card and go "oh, the 5 of coins...financial trouble" and then completely - or almost completely - ignore that information.

well, i guess usually i try to keep it in my mind, but the thing that helps me more is the visuals. i look at the card and see if anything stands out to me. sometimes i am really drawn to a certain part of the card, and i ask myself why? i get lots of information this way, and then try to see how it's connected to the standard meaning of the card.

usually when i'm doing past life readings - maybe because of the spread i use - the focus on children comes up if it needs to.
my main focus is the person, what they did, how they lived, what they learned, and then carried over. if it is important that they had a kid, then it tends to "pop" itself up on its own.

so like i said, i'm not very much help in nailing down a way to figure it out consistently, but just wanted to throw in my thoughts.

Thanks for the reply. I am really trying and many times I am doing really well but certain positions throw me off sometimes.

I really like that what you've come up with is not a static spread. I mean... you don't have a set of 50 cards to try to interpret every time, just the relevant ones to the reading. I like that. :D

Thanks.:) I thought about it for days when the format kind of just came to me. It was like brick wall brick wall..nothing fit what I wanted to ask or could quite answer the questions I was asking. And then there it was. So now if only I could get that sort of enlightenment when I do the readings. Always trying.

Yep, I am with redheadwitch on this one... I do actually use a kinda spread, it's not set it in a specific way, i just throw some cards down... but that is my spread for a past life reading.....

I also just say what ever the card means, you should always keep an open mind about reading cards, something could pop up in one particular card that you've never seen before!

I was just searching for this thread and didn't realize it had recently been bumped. Here's another bump. I recently did a reading on my niece and her mother. It was fascinating and showed carry overs that are still issues between them.

Thanks Storm! Tried it on my sister and myself, pretty cool. It's got alot of tweaking room too to suit personal taste. appreciate the knowledge, man.
