08/27/2003 Expert opinions wanted

Hi everyone! I have stumbled across something that get more disturbing the more I research it and I need others opinions and and conformation (sp?) of my findings.

On August 27 of this year Mars will be at its closest approach to earth since the year 608. (Source, The Old Farmers Almanac) The implications of this are numerous enough but I couldn't get it out of my head so I got a plantarium program and found something that may have even greater bearing.

According to what I saw, THe Sun, Moon, Jupiter and Venus are ALL in conjunction, aligned and in almost perfect opposition to Mars on that day.

My questions are: Are my findings right? And if they are, what would such an alignment portend? I feel something REALLY bad building here.

Well i'm not an expert but i've checked with a astrology programme and also with a friend who knows a lot about it... as ar as i can tell your calculation are correct and i would agree with you that something is building up ... it may not be bad ... but i would say it means a time of big change ....

Someone more epxerienced in this will be able to help you more though

As I read the articles my neck hair stood on end. Not being the flippant kind, I wanted corroberation...... I guess I got it. :( When astronomers and astrologers start reading from the same page look out! I think it's time to get the word out. Forewarned is forarmed.

Yes...it looks like this could be a troublesome time. However, it would also be good to realize that it is indicative of a time of massive change and creativity. While it seems this astrological phenomena is a portent of dangerous things to come, it also seems to indicate that it will be a time of great technological advances, and discoveries. As I was reading these articles, I started to think of the Tarot Card "Tower". When life seems the MOST chaotic, what is really happening is that things are being cleared away for something new. In my opinion..yes...this does look like a scary time. However, perhaps out of the chaos that is coming, some good may be found. Something new created...

Woah there and hold on!

Rather than 'freak' out...lets try to gather information. I mean, you feel uneasy but I feel great. Who is right in their feelings? Who knows! But either way we need to remain calm.

I personally will have my camera and tripod ready to go...this past summer, the planets were in alignment too...Venus, Mars, Jupiter and us...and Saturn I believe too...it was a beautiful Right triangle in the sky...the energy was unreal that night! Very strong but in a non threatening way...what raises fear with this is so much of the unknown with it! Its all good, we aren't going anywhere...

Remaining calm is always the best course of action...however, I agree with Twig about the "Forewarned, is forearmed" bit. In my opinion, looking at pending astrological phenomena, is a great way to be a little "forewarned". Not so that we can panic, and go into complete chaos to try to avoid whatever is looming, but so that we can be aware, and hopefully, make choices with this in mind. I'm not reccomending you all go out and buy bomb shelters..however, it does maybe imply that perhaps a few extra packs of batteries, a few extra bottles of water, and a few blankets stowed away in your cellar might not be a bad thing. Panic in troublesome times, doesn't do any good. Being prepared in some way, for things that can happen, does wonderful things.

At the very least, I would say that this sort of phenomena, is a sign that perhaps a little bit of prayer, reflection, or energy raising might not be a bad thing. On the large scale front, it seems to be talking about escalation in wars. Something which may be too late to entirely prevent. But...something that we can keep in our minds, and our prayers, and prepare for by little things such as stocking up some basic necessities, etc.

On the small scale front, I'd say that this astrological phenomena could be indicitave of upheavals in relationships, and the home. Perhaps alot of us will be just a little more "on edge" during this alighnment. Perhaps the stress of what is going on in the world at large, might make us more prone to arguing with our loved ones. Knowing that an astrological alighnment is aiding this "touchy temper" type feeling, we might be able to step back, and catch our breaths, and say..."Ya know..it's that naughty Mars thing again. It will pass". That's been very valuable for me many times..Such as in Mercury Retrogrades. "Yup..tempers are running hot right now. Let me sit and think this trough before I jump off a cliff. It's TEMPORARY, how will I feel when Mercury Retrograde Passes? Hmm...let me wait and find out".

Foreknowledge, is a wonderful thing. It allows us to make educated choices, to prevent certain things, when possible. However, complete and utter panic, does no good.

Yeah..the hair on my neck stood out too. But..the hair on my neck has been standing up pretty much since Sept 11th. And hasn't calmed down since.

It's a dangerous, confusing time that we live in these days. The astrological phenomena, is merely a confirmation, to me, of what I already knew, in part. I'm not going to worry MORE because of it, then I've already BEEN worrying for months. However, What I'm choosing to look at, is the aspect of this phenomena which speaks of Change, and Creativity. Perhaps during this astrological alignment, we will find a way to end this war, and find peace. That, in itsself, is an "Explosive" turn of events, so to speak. A major upheaval, of the current circumstance.

So...buy some batteries, some water, some blankets, and first Aid kits. Send letters to your congressmen, and pray. But..also leave room for the miraculous.

The war drums have been beating for a while now.... August 2003, might either bring a culmination, or a resolution to them. Be prepared for the worst, but pray for the best :)

I agree with you that astrological stuff should be used to give us an idea of what might be going on, but I also see how people use it as an excuse to freak out or for everything that goes wrong.

Haha! No, not this time. I truly don't know. The basis for my feeling is just that...the feeling. I am not afraid of this, I welcome it. For some reason which I am sure will be made clear to me in due time.

Scientists are already reporting that several volcanoes around the world are showing signs of erupting sometime soon, including Vesuvius and the supervolcano in the U.S. We have been dubbed "The Children of the Earthquakes."

This might have something to do with what is happening in August, or it might be coincidence.

When you say this, what do you mean things are being cleared away for something new.. Like, i understand it, but is this goign along with the theories of war and volcanoes and wildfires causing destruction and cleaning the slate? or do you mean something else....

I personally don't see the need for any real panic... oppositions aren't the end of the world! :) We've probably all got at least one in our charts somewhere.
The conjunctions are actually pretty loose...Sun is at 03 Virgo that day, with Moon in 24 Leo, Jupiter in 29 Leo, and Venus in 05 Virgo... Mars is in it's Retrograde phase and will be at 05 of Pisces. The only exact opposition in the bunch is Venus-Mars. I think it'll be an interesting lineup and a pretty spectacular sight, but like someone else said, we've had these lineups before, with more planets than this in a row, and we're still here. I don't see this as any kind of doomsday aspect... If you're into astrology think about what these planets symbolize, and also notice where they are in your chart. That's probably where you'll feel it most.
But like they say hindsight is 20/20. Very few true disasters or world wars, etc. are predicted by the aspects ahead of time. It's easy to look at the chart for 9/11 and point to triggers that set it all off, but any aspect has thousands of possible real world manifestations... Venus-Mars opposition could be anything from a war to your boyfriend insulting your new haircut. It's a lot easier to see these things in retrospect...I for one am not going to get worked up over it, but I'll definitely be looking up at the sky that night. :)

Interesting thread. I've been surfing the 'net worldwide and came across an inspiring attitude about potential disasters, man-made or natural (Australian Rescue Service)
---Among the list of 'items to have on hand' that are suggested by the media, etc. One item grabbed my attention:
---"Remember to check on your neighbors and make sure they are okay, especially people new to the town."
I haven't heard such sane, appropriate advice in quite awhile.
Let's remember that WE are a resource:
Take a CPR/ First Aid class
Check on your neighbors (especially the elder and frail, or perhaps a mom with kids)
---Flashlights, tennis shoes, and a coat or two are good to have handy....but let's all be ready to volunteer if and when it is necessary.
---Not to mention, you meet the most wonderful folks when you take those classes :)

Boy are they ever!

Portugalīs forest are nearly all burnt down. People died because of heat waves around Europe, they say around 3,000 deaths directly and indirectly caused because of the heat wave. Then there was weird storms that flooded Italy?? Heard that on the news this morning. Not clear on the facts yet.

Then to me Thread " are there bad vibes in the air".

Then to friends, a friend of a friend was killed in a train and car accident in Portugal. Another friend of a friend died scuba diving. Another friend of friend is in a coma because of a car accident recentlįy. My brother was nearly killed in a motorcycle accident a week ago, he was riding with the driver. The driver is dead. Shall the list go on???
