I found out about a week or so ago that my husband, Nathan, and I are pregnant!! I am due October 10th...Not too sure how to go about things...I am a first time mommy and all...so, if I could get some advice, it would be greatly appreciated...thanks so much.

Well...congrats Altheia. Check out the Healthy Forum. The Fertility Forum was merged with it & there is lots of good advice in there for the medical side.

My advice on being pregnant? Enjoy it. Well, as much as you can...there's morning sickness to deal with and all that fun stuff. But it's a great time, nonetheless.

May I ask...how does this affect your Army status?

All the blessings and hapiness for you and yours! :)

And advices, advices... hmm... depends. I am still not a mother myself, but i helped in 2 child births so far, assisted in the time of the pregnancy, and now they are growing and i am still helping in what i can. So, if you have specific questions, i shall do my best :)

A very warm hug for you in this special time :)

This doesn't effect my status in the military unless I want it to, in which case, I do...I am getting a separation so that I can raise my child alongside with my husband, and take care of them both...I also want to go back to music school. (be a music teacher) Thanks for the advice..and thanks for the hugs...good stuff. Just let me know if there is anything else you think would be useful to me. Thanks again. -Jo

Altheia, Congratulations to you and your husband!!
---There are many, many 'threads' with links listed on a number of topics here in Pagan Family. I thought I knew all the resources, but this is a great community here of caring, wonderful folks. Look, also under 'Frustration Support', as not all the links are geared towards 'problems'....also, there are so many magazines online now, you can check out opinions and info. without the cost of a subscription. My fav is www.mothering.com .
----Advice?
3 things: Enjoy this time. It's over before you know it.

Congrats!! You must be so excited and happy. :):):)

3 things: Enjoy this time. It's over before you know it.
Too true! Take care of yourself- eat well, rest when you are tired, listen to your body.

Any questions you have don't hesitate to post here, or in Healthy Pagan.

Many blessings!

I started a Resource thread for this Forum, it is stuck at the top of the forum. You gave me the kick in the pants to get it going. :)

I think we had a new mom's thread in here too- I'll search that one out as well and add it to that thread.

Have you ever been in the same room when a baby was born?
How about a cow or horse?
Because the one thing NO ONE tells you is Amniotic Fluid STINKS!!!
Now I've been around puppies and kittens being born, but there's a lot less fluid there so I was NOT prepared!
OK Laugh! I do now ;)
With that being said, it doesn't matter how much you read, how many kids or babies you've baby sitted.
YOU STILL WILL NOT BE PREPARED!
That in itself is not a bad thing. Just don't be afraid to ask questions. AND don't think you have to follow advice from someone just because they have kids.
The best part of being a parent is.........................
you get to grow as a person, just like your baby;)
The worst part.....................
Babies grow too fast! Enjoy it while it lasts!:D

First of all congrats!! I delivered my third baby on Feb 6th and the only things I can tell you are:
Give yourself leeway to make mistakes (you will so don't beat yourself up), Babies DON'T come with instruction manuals... We ALL start out by making mistakes and thats how we learn. There is nothing more horrifying/rewarding than giving birth, it's too bad men can't do it!! Get used to people making comments about how big/small you are and trying to touch your stomach (annoying as HELL but it happens) Get ready to fall in love all over again.... with your husband AND a new human being. Also be prepared for your hubby to be jealous of the baby LOL. Mine would be but he spends more time holding Danyl than I do!! (his first baby) The only time I get to hold him is when I'm breastfeeding!!!!!!

If you need to talk about ANYTHING just IM me
