A few weeks ago, I found old boyfriend's tarot deck. He and I just broke up yesterday, but it's been on my mind for a few weeks (and if you think about it, was part of the breakup - if he treated a sacred deck like that, it doesn't say much for his consideration!)

I had given him the deck as a gift last June or so, and if you havn't seen the Hanson-Roberts deck, please look it up, I think it to be quite beautiful (in a whimsical way). It's an excellent deck for beginners, but I think even seasoned readers would enjoy it.

I had even given him a white satin bag to keep them in. . . *sighs* I found the cards. . . and the look something the cat dragged in - on a rainy day! They're all warped, the poor babies, though somehow the colour stayed perfectly. The artwork is all in excellent shape. The only problem is since the cards aren't flat anymore, they're more likely to jump out, and you can't really "shuffle' them like you would a deck of playing cards. None of the cards are stuck together, no rips or anything, they just don't lay flat anymore. I have no idea what he did to them, other than severe neglect and that they were kept in his car for quite some time. From what I have been able to discern from the few cards I drew, this deck wants a new home. If ex-boyfriend even bothers remembering that he has them, and asks me, I plan on having forgotton where I put them, or some such thing. I can't stand the thought of him taking them back. To my knowlage, he only used them once anyway. This is disgraceful.

So this poor deck needs a lot of TLC. I repete, the colours and prints are all perfectly fine, in great condition. It's a beautiful deck, and still has a long time of use left in it. If anything, this would give it personality. However, I don't think it would be right for me to keep it here, and I don't think I could give it the healing it needs. It doesn't seem to have any nasty karmic strings attached, or negative energy. It's just sad and in pain, needs someone to help heal it.

At this point I'm short in funds, so I'd ask that you pay shipping. But other than that, they're free to a good home. (kinda like a kitten lol)

I don't want to put this in the marketplace forum, as I feel they really need someone who knows what they're doing. It's a beautiful deck for beginners, but these cards will need some healing first. I do think that they can be used again, and will prove to be a wonderful deck. Just in need of some TLC for now.

If you're interested, post here or PM me. I really hope I can find a home for them. :( poor things.

Ah- found some website stuff on it. Also, I forgot to mention, I still have the little booklet (and you're welcome to have the satin bag too. I havn't tried to clean it, it seems to be a little discoloured, but mild soap and water should clean it just fine).

Though those scans really don't do the deck justice.

Ugh, isn't it HORRID when people treat their decks that way?

I hope it enjoys it's new home, whomever it ends up with!

It's a beautiful thought to find this deck a new home where someone will care for it as it deserves. Good for you Puma.

I think its pretty cool that you are so diligant in finding a good home for your ex-boyfriends Tarot Deck. Its hard for me to imagine that any one would abandon it, but people do some strange things in what they abandon in life.

I think its wise for you to let go of it, and im sure the new owner would be well advised to cleanse the deck properly once they aquire it. Maybe better left to some one that is more experinced than a newbie. They may not know to do that.
