Folks I need to know how fast the site is moving for you right now. Please.

Somewhat faster

Seems slow when I post but then I often have that problem for some reason when I'm using Galeon or Mozilla in Red Hat - I attribute it to my lameness in Red Hat ;)

I have good boring old dialup and I am still having problems getting that page cannot be displayed and for the first time ever I have had to click that "click here if you"re sick of waiting link. I got to three other boards. They are always slow. So we are just spoiled and don't notice :lol:

This is going to be fixed. Im working on it as well as another server admin. If I cant get it fixed, me might be moving to another server.

Is the lag in the web server or in the database?

The problem is not connection related. Its server load. We cant figure out why the server is getting loaded down. Everything has been tweaked to the max. The only other possibilty is hardware troubles. We are getting another server ready to move mw if we have to.

I have cable connection and it was so slow early this afternoon that I gave up and took a nap. I wondered if user-load was really heavy... But I've been noticing the slow-down biznez for several days now. Hey, it's still a great site, even when I have to wait.

Its the combo of about 4 different things near as we can tell. Processing power is one of our majors right now.

I'm working on a 233 pentium with only 128 megs of ram. From what I see its about 20~25% faster than it was!!! Whatever you are doing keep it up!

From across the Atlantic, I'm happy to say that, most of the time, the forums react quite fast.

Then again, my cable internet and a new iMac G4 might contribute to that.

Just a few minutes ago, when refreshing one of the threads, the server didn't respond. But the next refresh it was back and at quite an acceptible speed.
