"Satanism is a religion in which the individual is raised to personal godhood, free from enslavement to any other god or gods. This is a question not only of power, but also of ethics, morality, and psychological maturity. It is a pathway to metaphysical growth, but many mistake it as an excuse for egoistic irresponsibility. Those who make this mistake are usually the so-called "Satanists" who run around, professing their uncompromising hatred for Christians and Christianity, seemingly without any rational or logical basis of thought."

Thank you, Rainx! That answered a LOT of questions I'd always had about Satanism that most websites just couldn't answer.

"Personal empowerment! YOU ARE GOD!" Which, is essentially a very True statement no matter the Path you walk. After all, you can control your destiny.

This makes little sense - the only power is personal empowerment - Not to anyone else - YOU must be in control of your choices, decisions, responsibility, ethics, morals and karma ... No one else will "wipe it clean" for you, thus the further comment about ego centered irresponsibility is an oxy-moron.
However, I should add that in my experience egotisical irresponsibility is the mandate of many organised God based religions, as they refuse to take responibility for their actions and decisions and are instead taught to BLAME SATAN, blame circumstance, blame anything but their own lack of foresight and thought. Come to confession, come to church, come be a sheep and we will cleanse your soul - But their bible also firmly states no one but GOD can do this and that we are all co-creators if in no other way than that one alone. If we do indeed have the ability and right to create, the soup of this skewered rationality gets thicker still ...

Sorry? The quote is about personal empowerment and the responsibility to use it. I'm afraid I'm not understanding what you're saying.

This is in reference to people who use Satanism as a philosophy centering on the self as God as an excuse to be egoist and irresponsible.

Ahh, but some have the faith positive proof that it can be wiped clean for you...the slate that is. There are other forms of empowerment, such as empowerment by God.
