i just purchased my faeries' oracle deck last week and every day since have been spellbound and mesmerized by them. i can't wait to learn more. although none of the faerie's have spoken to me personally (not out loud anyhow) i do feel a connection. my only problem is opening up to them. i was raised roman catholic and this time of year (the lenten season) is especially hard for me to deal with. all of that "catholic guilt" is plauging me. does anyone have any ideas/philosophies on how to overcome this sort of "blockage'? i've always been a pagan at heart but other influences have made the past ten years hard for me to pursure that lifestyle. i am back now to refind that pagan sense of life i had earlier. hopefully i can find it in the faerie's and other spiritual realms. i'm on a quest for knowledge- and this is where it brought me (amoung other places)! yeah!

hello and MM,
I`ve had questions like this a few times from people who have wrote me from my site. but anyways, thats not important. all that i tell those people is that even if you are raised another faith and you think that paganism is right for you, then look at the faith you were raised like this; jesus is symbolism for the sun. example, decmeber comes around and people are doing the whole xmas thing because its the birth of "the son". around the same time is the winter solstice where the sun is "reborn" after the dark of winter. then some people who are raised one faith look at the virgin mary as the Goddess figure who gives bith to the son(Sun). hopefully this helps you :)

I think that your "Catholic guilt" is a struggle that you will eventually resolve within yourself after practicing this path for a while, if you decide that this is your true path. I was raised Catholic also and the similarities between the two are incredible. I also believe that most spiritual paths are basically the same and just practiced in different ways. For instance, many Christian religions use scripture in much the same way we do spells and chants. Some even randomly open their bibles and take whatever scripture presents itself first as answers. I'd have to say that's a form of divination. Stories about dreams as prophecy are abundant throughout the bible.
When I explained my new path to my sons, I told them that my belief in God has not changed but my perception of God has. Using tarot as a tool on your spiritual journey is a good choice. I'm also someone who is not very good at sitting meditations and have used yoga, tarot and magick as forms of meditation.

Take that guilt feeling and use it. Most of us who were raised in the Christian tradition have it to some extent or other, and the only way to get throught it is to reflect on it and come to terms with it.
Take time, not necessarily when you work with your cards, to think about the origins of your feelings. Chances are good that you'll come to the conclusion that they aren't from any kind of spiritual source, but one that is distinctly earthly.
It's part of your spiritual quest, and spiritual growth, to learn to let go and leave behind those issues and move on to deal with the things that are truly important in this life.
