View Full Version : Unexplainable Weird Things

Didn't know where else to post this, figured it'd go good here.

Ever have something really weird happen? I don't mean like when the radio fizzes out, or the TV changes stations mysteriously, but then you realise you were leaning on the remote.

Was interested in hearing stories of anything absolutly weird and unexplainable happening.

The one weird thing that constantly stands out in my mind is this, I was in high school at the time:

I got on the bus. It was a nice and sunny day so most kids walked home or caught rides from their friends or whatnot. So I got the front seat of the bus. Yippie.

Okay, I sat down, set my bag down infront of me as I sat down with my back towards the window.

I hear and feel this object hit the seat. Oookay. I look. It's this object that has fallen off my necklace.

Before I continue, let me explain the necklace that I wore constantly at that time.

It was a long plasticky leather strand, rather thick. I've got about 4 rings, 6 beads, and 2 keys. The 'centerpeice' is this cheap plastic round and flat thing with a hologram of an eye on it. It's actually a rather nice hologram. Very detailed. The eye looks rather real and 3D. But yes, this is a rather heavy necklace.

Annyhow. The thing that fell off was the hologram eye. "That's not so spooky!" you say? Eh? Of course you do.

I picked it up and figured the loop on it broke. I examined it. Umm. NO. The loop did nor break. This thing has a very solid frame and loop. There is no crack. So there's no way that it ever so slowly worked it's way through a crack, even a hairline crack. This thing has been examined by many people.

Oh, so now you think that it worked it's way through the knot in the string? I don't think so. The knot would never have been able to work it's way through all the beads and keys I had between it and the hologram eye (I just know I'm spelling that wrong, ah well).

This event messed with my mind severly for quite a few months. It still messes with me sometimes.

So that's my Weird Event.

Anybody else out there?

yep. When we first moved to texas, we rented this old, old house...and it was haunted.
I always heard and felt stuff in the house...there was a room upstairs that none of us would go into, for you would just...FEEL something..the dogs reacted everything they went in there (whimpered, clung to us, trembled, etc), so we kept it shut up....one day, I walked into the kitchen where my mom was washing dishes, and right when I walked in, a tupperware container flew off the counter and onto the floor. nobody was near this thing. my mom and i were very freaked out, and she shared with me that she knew there was something in there, becuase it was waking her up during the night (she would feel something prodding her, and she'd feel someone standing over her).
I believe in those things, very much so.

Once at a gathering a long time ago my then boyfriend ( now husband) found a small branch on the ground . He kept holding it swishing it around generally anoying me with it lol. So I took it from him and I just liked the way it felt in my hand , the size and weight of it . I was rather new and had been reading a lot , but not doing much . So I figured I would attempt to charge it , or put some energy into it . I held it in one hand and started feeling around it with the other while doing a Goddess chant in my head . You know those 10 minutes before you fall asleep ? That time were you are there but not really conscious of being there but not unconscious either ? I felt like that . Like everything was melting away. People were yelling at me to stop . Somehow the wind came while I was doing his and it was cold out anyway . I stopped the wind stopped instantly . The elder we were camping near started telling me how unethical weather magick was !!?? I do not believe I was doing "weather magick" . I think that the Goddess chose to answer me with a breeze.
Anyway today that stick is my wand and that elder and her friends are long gone from my life. And I still think of the Goddess when a breeze pops up out nowhere.

When I think of really strange things that have happened to me or people I know or when I read stories of what's happened to other people...it makes me tremble and my eyes start to water....
maybe it's the other dimensions lapsing over this one and it's stronger in different places?

It was a miltary one at our base too. When hubby and I went to look at it, I felt "her" following me and even breathing in my hair. I have this "gift". I've seen spirits since I was a baby. I never ever play with a ouija board or go looking for them, they find me. Well, we moved into this house/apt. All of the lights would flash on and off, when I would step out of the shower I had deep scratches on my back, things would fly off the wall and land in another room, mist would just appear by the doorway and these small little floating balls would drift out of my closet and over the bed. At first my hubby didn't believe. But he went away sometimes on miltary exercises so it was just me and the dog to see all of this. Finally he began to experience it too. A womans shadow would follow him down the hall and one night when he was very sick he said, " I wish I had something cool to place on my abdomen right now." I was just stepping in the shower and figured that I would get him an icepack when I was done. Well, 3 minutes later he ws freaking out. Something kept pulling the covers off of him in bed and placing it's cold hands on his abdomen...right where he was feeling the pain too!!!! I eventually knew who she was. She died there when she was only 26. Her spirit never left. She acted angry to us at first because" we just moved into her house and walked right through her". Well, I guess that would anger me too. I learned eventually to just say "hi" to her every now and then. As long as you acknowledged her, she left you alone!!! One time she evn helped me find a lost bottle of exedrin. We eventually moved out as things got weird again. NOW, my hubby believes!!!! He says, "I'll never move into another haunted house again". Well, we may be moving to England in a few weeks here......that's one of the most haunted countires in the world I've been told. Maybe we'll get a nice spirit who will help me clean house

You're moving to England? Well, that makes us practically neighbours! I hope you don't feel culture-shocked when you arrive! What area of England will you be living in?

Derry
March 7th, 2003, 01:57 PM
We will be living near Cambridge, Huntington, maybe Godmanchester....that area. I don't think I'll feel too culture shocked. I don't watch American tv....even though I live in America. For years now I have been watching the BBC. I love it!!!! A lot of that stuff would be cencored here!!! I especially love Graham Norton. I've heard from other military people who have been at Alconbury that the country side is absolutely beautiful. Also, I love rain. I know I will have to get used to driving on the opposite side, but I've already started studying the road signs and rules of the round abouts. I'm not afraid to take on driving over there (although you might be afraid of me until I get the hang of it!!!) You guys have a great transportation system too. I'm really impressed. Can't wait to join you!!!

Derry, so this thread stays on topic I'm sending you a PM.

My room at home is haunted, an old lady called Lottie used to live in it, and sometimes when I come home I can see her pottering about in my room through the window when I'm unlocking the front door. She used to scare me but not now, according to my neighbours she was a lovely old lady (they don't know she still lives there) I've never felt her in the room when I've been in it, just seen her through a window.

Well, my weird things aren't as weird as everyone else's.... they could probably be attributed to absentmindedness, if someone really wanted to take the fun out of it. :)

There was once when I was in school, elementary school when we were learning long division... I don't remember things really clearly, because it was so long ago, but I do remember that I was sitting at my desk working on math problems. I spaced out for a little bit, day dreaming or something, and when I went back to my work, I discovered that I had done a really long question without doing any work.... the answer was correct, but to this day I have absolutely no idea how I got it. (See, told you it wasn't really weird.)
The only other weird thing that's happened to me is that a "presence" that I call my leprechan has followed me from home to home, and amuses itself with taking my stuff and returning it in odd places. For example, my hair brush went missing for a week and I found it one morning laying right outside my bedroom door. I've now learned to politely ask for whatever I'm missing to be returned, and it shows up a lot sooner than it would otherwise.

I've got one. It's a dream, and a completely unremarkable dream surrounded by strange circumstances.

I had a dream one night that I received a call from my cousin, inviting me over to our friend Bill's house to watch a video they had just made. When I got to his house, I sat on the floor in front of the television as they pressed play on the remote. In the dream, the video showed Bill driving a truck. As the camera panned to the right, I saw two of our friends standing on the back of the truck, smiling. I turned to my cousin and Bill and asked them, "Wait... didn't you film this two weeks ago?" My cousin told me, "No, we just filmed it 10 minutes ago."

Well, I forgot about the dream until two weeks later, when my cousin invited me over to Bill's house to watch a video. I got into the house, sat on the floor, and as the video began to play I had the strongest feeling of de ja vu. The video played, and it was the same scene: Bill in his truck, the camera panning to the right, and our two friends standing on the back of it. I was so confused, because at that point I hadn't remembered the dream, but I knew I'd seen the video before. I turned to them and asked, "Didn't you film this two weeks ago?" My cousin said "No, we just filmed it 10 minutes ago."

All of a sudden, I remembered the dream and exclaimed, "Oh my God!" I looked at my cousin, who nodded and said, "You dreamed this, didn't you?"

She knew that I tended to have prophetic dreams, but I have no idea how she knew that right at that moment. This is one of the weirdest things I've ever had happen to me, and I've always been so confused as to why it happened with something completely insignificant as this event was. I told my dad about it later on and he shrugged and said, "Well... there are things in the universe that just can't be explained."

Hey, Amethyst Rose, my ex and I had a "leprechaun" living with us for many years. We called him Cousin Itt. I could only see Itt when I was looking into a mirror and Itt would run across the room behind me. Itt was short and hairy, hence the name. Itt would also hide things and the best way we found to get Itt to bring them back was to put out a saucer of honey mead or Bailey's Irish Creme for Itt. Yep, we bribed the little sucker. Itt really loved electrical things and kept burning out the lightbulb in the hanging lamp over my computer, and Itt would play hopscotch on my ex's computer keyboard. Itt drove the dog nuts, apparently Buster could see Itt.

When we opened a Pagan bookstore Itt loved to go along and hang out while we were working. When my ex and I separated, Itt went to live with the ButtHead and HisSlut, which I found hilarious because TheSlut never did like Itt. I was kinda fond of the little sucker myself.

Wow, most of your guys' stories of The Weird seem to revolve around ghosts. I'm wondering if there was a ghost involved in my little incident.

I know I've had a -few- things dissapear that I've never seen again, but that's not much. At the crappy apartment we were living in for awhile, more things dissapeared from there than anywhere else or any other time in my life.

Like a $20 bill. That really pissed me off because every dollar we have is very much needed.

Anyhow... great stories! Keep 'em coming. I love hearing about this kinda stuff. Dunno why...

I do have something to share, but I can't really attribute it to any ghostly force or anything like that; I have no recollection of ever seeing a ghost or anything to make me think there should be any in our house. There for a while, I literally was afraid that there were skeletons in the hall closet, but other than that which I attribute to childish fears, nothing.

My weird event is this; when I was five years old I came into possession of a little toy race car; one of those little die cast pace cars that you see all the time as prizes in cereal boxes. Well, it was a green car, Quaker Mills I believe was the predominant decal on it. I lost it shortly after coming into possession of it, and I assumed it had ended up behind the TV platform, as that was where all lost toys ended up being found since I tended to play in front of it.

Well, we've totally remodelled the house since then a couple times, moved EVERYTHING out of the house for bug bombing and putting up new sheet-rock, and I have moved out of it a time to live with my mother, only to return back a year ago. In all that time, the thing simply has never shown up again. That house and the crawlspace beneath it has been dug through, emptied and dug through some more and it's nowhere in sight.

Now that I've read all this and I think about this incident, if it does ever show up I will feel very disturbed.

Ok folks. Sloooooowly look to the left under my avatar. ;) :D

Ok LATEST weird occurance. Pulling out of taco bell I remark to Mike, who's driving,

"check that truck out. now THAT bumper could do some damage"

referring to the brand new, tricked out Ford F-350 that we pulled out behind. We pulled behind him at a stoplight to turn left. Then, for NO EXPLAINABLE REASON, I see the back up lights come on and this truck backs up into us!!! THe old man later said that as he sat the light he suddenly decided he wanted to turn right and was backing up for that!

I AM NOT AN ABDUCTEE!!! Or The freakiest thing that even I can't explain.

-Summer 1980 3:10pm-
I stand in front of West Hall ( the administration bldg. of the University of Portland) havig a cigarette and looking out over downtown Portland. Being the Univer. sits on a bluff, I have a perfect view of the whole of downtown and the surronding area.

My view was drawn to the sky and the fluffy cumulus cloud that crowned the whole of the downtown core. Suddenly a small silver disk shot out of the cloud, did a hard 90 degree turn, flew about 1/4 mile, did another 90 and shot back into the cloud, in LESS than 1 second!!!

Suddenly my cigarette burnt my finger. Now I had only just lit that cigarette when I saw this occurance. I still can't explain where the 5+ mins. it takes to smoke a cigarette went.

walks away mumbling "NOTHING does 90 degree turns at over 300 mph. 5 minutes.........damn!??

Peace

PaganInkubus, if that car ever shows up, let me know so I can be spooked with you ^-^

Twig, that definatly was either not flown by man, or flown by men very known to the government. Okay so maybe I've watched too much X-Files (I was WAAY obessed with that show growing up), but... anyway.

I saw stuff like that once. It was in middle school. We had to go to this "SkyCamp" thing. I hated it 'cause it involved sleeping away from home and I had to participate in group activities (Does Not Play Well With OTHERS!)

One night we were all sitting around a camp fire and I don't know who noticed it first, but half of the class started staring over above the hills (this was out in the middle of nowhere in Oregon).

There were about 3, maybe four, white lights waaaay over there, floating and ZIPPING around, much like you described it. Our aircraft do not ZIP around.

One of the camp counslers said they weren't UFOs, but airplanes. Yeah right, and I'm a chinese jet fighter. Sure. Whatever you say, whacko-lady.

Anyway, I often forget about that.

You all remember the movie, "Fire In the Sky?"

My bf and I was living right next to the city that all that happened in, just a few miles away. I thought I saw some strange lights above the hills in the area once night, told my bf. That's when he told me that that's where the Fire In the Sky movie stuff happened.

*twitches*

Nowonder I can't sleep at night.

There is a road, somewhere here in Atlanta (my friend was driving, and it was night, and I'm terrible with directions, so I could never find it again, although I could ask her) that almost vibrates with negative energy. She drove down this road without mentioning anything to me and immediately I asked her if people had been killed there. You can almost see people hanging in the trees. I don't know the story behind the road, but she and I have gone back since, and even the 2nd time I felt it. It was really wierd and creepy!!!

Two things that I can think of.

The first was when I was about 13. It was the end of my wood/metal work class and I was finishing off something. My friend and my teacher were standing on either side of me when somehow (can't remember if I actually took it off, or it slipped off), the ring that my mom had given me for my birthday fell and rolled under the bench that was in front of me. All three of us got down on the floor to have a look, but none of us could see it. We couldn't even move the bench as it was bolted down.
Skip forward to a year (maybe more) later, I was in my room and sorting through some boxes that were still in my room from when we had moved. I'd just emptied out one box and there, in one of the corners... was my ring. :: cues twilight zone music ::

Now the second one was a little more recent. Friday night I have this vague recollection of some dream. The only thing I can really recall from it was this women. Dark hair just past her shoulders. Silghtly heavy build. Shorter than me.
Saturday comes and my partner, Amber and I go to the Celtic Festival in Sutherland. Afterwards, we grab something to eat at the McDonald's across the road. Just after we sit down, a woman and her daughter walk past to another table. I glance up at them and couldn't help but think I've seen the woman before. Short time later, I realize that she was in my dream the night before...

there's been other minor things, but those two stick out in my mind.

moriganstarr, I wish I had that little talent for myself. I lost an important ring my mom gave me (actually my bloody boyfriend lost it). And nobody knows where it's at. I'm not too good at finding other peoples stuff if it's important, but I can find it if it's not important.

Tellin, I live out in the sticks too, big time. I'd totally freak out if I heard something like that. I wouldn't mind if I saw the source of the sound, but I hate not knowing where somethings coming from.

Kaya, your story about the ring is a big time Twilight Zone thing! Hope you still have the ring. Hope I don't find mine after a year...

Oh boy, I have so many experiences to choose from in this category. From ghost sightings, to dealing with negative spirits that used to torment me, things disappearing then reappearing in unusual places, partial writing on the wall disappearing before my eyes, to witnessing two of my closest friends getting possessed by some unknown entity (that definitely wasn't fun). Most people think I'm crazy when I explain these stories in depth. I used to think I was crazy, too, until other people were there with me and described the exact same thing I saw before I ever said a word.

I haven't had anything too unusual happen for quite some time, though. The latest 'odd ball' experience I've had was a few weeks ago, while I was watching a movie in my living room. I heard a bell ringing in my bedroom (as clear as day, too), I didn't find it unusual at first because I just assumed it was my cat playing with her toy. It turns out that she was outside the entire time. I was a little tripped out by the time I figured that out, however, it wasn't something that I felt I needed to be concerned with. I have obviously dealt with much worse.

Angel,

Yes, I'd have to agree that hearing phantom sounds aren't something to raise eyebrows over too much after what you've seen such *snickers*.

When random out of the blue stuff like that happen to me, I take 3-5 seconds to go through ALL the possibilities of what it could have been, so I don't get overexcited about nothing.

You know what drives me nuts, though? Not knowing if what I keep seeing and feeling is my over active imaginaton or if there is really phenomenal type stuff happening around me.

Like tonight. I swear I keep seeing things that I can't quite connect to normal things. Like a flash of light. And shadows flitting here and there, as well as little lights. These are more or less normal, but tonight it's been happening at an extra level.

Wish there was a way to tell.

Well if you ever figure out what that bell ringing is all about, lemme know ^-^

Aynjelah,

I definitely understand what you're saying, and I know how you feel. The confusion is definitely bound to drive you mad. I used to react the same way, wondering if it was my eyes or imagination playing tricks on me, sometimes I still hold that uncertainty; it's natural to want to be in denial when you encounter such things. But, I have seen and experienced enough strange incidences in my life to know that these things are not mere coincidences (with the exception of a few occasions, of course). Luckily I've had my guides who have always helped me to clear any misconceptions and send me signs if ever I had any doubts or fear.

As for the flashes of lights that you see, don't feel alarmed. Both my boyfriend and I were noticing them last night. They were very strong. However, In our case it was mainly because my boyfriend was attempting to make contact with his guide for the first time and her presence was illuminating the entire room. Her presence gave us this sort of tingling sensation, too, but it was soothing. Also, full moon is approaching and the mana level tends to get high around this time.

lol, and the bell ringing... I honestly don't know for sure what that was all about. It could have just been some random spirit out to toy with my mind, it happens from time to time.... some of them like to be 'playful.' ^_^

BB,
Angel

Angel,

Do flashes of light always mean it's a guide? I get flashes -alot- but mostly when I'm laying down to do to sleep and I swear there's flashes in the room. Mostly it seems like it's my eyes playing tricks on me.

Tonight was the first time I saw a flash while not trying to go to sleep. Ever.

Anyhow, how you continue having luck with your guides. You're lucky to have someone who can help you clear up thoughts about what you see/think you see.

LdyNightAngel
March 18th, 2003, 10:22 PM
Aynjelah,

Let me ask you this, how did you feel when you saw these flashes? Did you sense anything? If it happens again, pay close attention with your minds eye, truly focus and 'listen.' If you do note a presence in your room, ask it who it is and why it's dwelling there. If you're open enough, it will respond.

BB,
Angel

Well, I haven't had too many weird things happen to me. But there was one incident that will stick in my memory forever.

My friend Zach wanted to go to this cabin in the woods on this mountain in Juneau to celebrate the aniversity of his mothers passing away. He wanted myself and my friend Jon to join him. We agreed, thinking that a night hanging out in the woods with your friends is nifty. Well, we spent most of the day hiking up this mountain. It was muddy, and there was still a little snow on the ground. But as it got dark, things took a turn for the creepy. It was getting really late. Zach seemed to have lost his way. Around 11 pm he pulled out his flash lite. The first thing that happened was that he slipped a little on some snow. He wasn't hurt, but he bumped the flash lite VERY slightly on a thin tree branch. The light all of a sudden went out. To this day it wont work, and nobody is able to tell what is wrong with it. At this point it was really getting dark, we were a bit lost, and our light wasn't working. We decided to just head back. So down the mountain we go. Then I got really creeped out, because out of the corner of my eye I could clearly see a grinning face. Naturally I turned to look, but it was gone. Shortly after, John and Zach started seeing them too. It got worse when we went down a wrong trail (it was dark) and almost fell off a ravine. But the thing is that while John was leaning forward to have a better look, his backpack strap all of a sudden came loose. He almost fell in, but we grabbed him. After that was done we checked his strap and found no apparent reason for why it game loose. It had been triple notted. We finally found the right trail and went down. For hours we kept seeing these grinning and leering faces out of the corner of our eyes.

That was without a doubt the weirdest thing that has happened to me. My friend Dorathy expalined that we may have stomped through some fairy circles without realizing it and got them angry. If that is the case, then I say we got of easy...

aynjelah,

That necklace was meant to come off. Sometimes you find out why and other times you don't. I had a very close friend who had his necklace "burned" off of him. H was worshipping and the necklace he was wearing began to get hot. It got so hot that he tore it off his neck and threw it as hard as he could. So, my guess is that one way or another, someone /something out there wanted to giv you a hand. That, or htey thought that you were wearing an evil eye.

Xeen

Thorferrer,
You're probably right. Everything happens for a reason, but sometimes the reason isn't all that important :)

Somewhere I still have that eye thing. I think. The hologram on it eventually started to fade, which is slightly odd because I was pretty sure the hologram part was on the INSIDE of the plastic. It also has a crack in it, something like you'd see in a windshield. Poor thing, been through so much abuse :)

Pingmao,
Now THAT is a spooky event there. That one event makes up for not having little weird things happen to ya :) I'm glad you guys made it back without too much trouble.

Angel,
I've always wanted to give automatic writing a try, since I really love writing. I'll keep that in mind also.
