Yep. Music is my life..my soul. I try and have it in rituals and things of that sort as much as I possibly can.

Music by Inkubus Sukkubus is presently in my course of study you might say; I don't consider it at all connected to spiritual development per say, but I am happy to lean back on constant reminders through the lyrics of what I am seeking. "May the Circle be Open," "We Do Not Die," and a couple others are helpful to me.. but that's me. :)

It does in mine! I usually play music to reflect my mood.. then slowly smoosh into music that I want to be like. If I'm in a bad mood, "Blind Guardian" is my choice.

I love that specific song very, very much... The piano intro makes me shiver...
I'm just very unhappy I can't find the lyrics for it anywhere...
Scratch that. I found it!

I'm like MidnightSun... Music is my soul. Nowadays I'm just passively listening, though. When I was younger, I was playing the music myself. Violin, piano, flute, clarinet, guitar... and I've probably played more than that, but forgotten about it...

"We Do Not Die" Lyrics. Courtesy of James International. ;)
Why did you tap me on the shoulder in my sleep last night?
Telling me I must write this song now, that the time is right.
They're gonna think I've lost my mind,
Some of them might be unkind when I say
There is no Hell,
We do not die,
We are not gone,
We are alive,
We are just drawn,
to the other side,
We are not dead,
We are alive,
We do not die,
We do not die.
They're gonna wonder how I got this information here,
What will they say when I tell them you whispered in my ear?
How can I prove their greatest fears,
Have been unfounded all these years.
The truth is,
There is no Hell,
We do not die,
We are not gone,
We are alive,
We are just drawn,
to the other side,
We are not dead,
We are alive,
We do not die,
We do not die.

I love Inkubus Sukkubus! Gypsy's Lament and Witches Chant have to be my favorites. I have a CD with song I play sometimes with Inkubus Sukkubus, some Enya (Watermark is my favorite song of hers) and a few others. :)

For me there is a kind of natural music in ritual or prayer, I find myself singing my chants, singing my affirmations. Admitted there is doubt as to wether anyone else would call it music, "awful cacophany" is a more likely description. But music is definatley part of the way I communicate with my deity.

I use the "Triple Goddess Chant" by Inkubus Sukkubus in my esbat rituals. :)
I'm also partial to "Wytches Chant", "Hail the Holly King", and "Druid Chant".

Definitely. Certain artists I listen to help keep me "in touch" with my spiritual side during the mundane aspects of my day, and in order to meditate I need to have some type of background music playing because there are too many distractions that interrupt me otherwise.

That was done by Dreamtrybe (formerly known as Velvet Hammer).. They are based out of Texas, http://www.dreamtrybe.com/intro_dt.html The album that was on (Storybook) is currently out of print, but can occaisionally be found on Ebay.

Actually, most of their albums are available in the US through places like Serpentine Music (or you could order them through resurrection and pay the shipping from the UK).. But they do have music on a site called soundclick.. (including a few that haven't been released yet including Crush).. You can also find Tony McCormacks other band (he's Candia's husband and cofounder) Vampire Division on there.. It's a shame, but MP3.com had a CD they put out of IS's previously unreleased songs.. They shut down now though. I've been obsessed with IS for YEARS!

Music is the closest thing that I have to an actual "religion." I sometimes have a hard time dealing with my own emotions, and music is always there for me. There is beauty, there is anger, structure, chaos. It is hard to believe that all of that is possible with only twelve tones, and that is a miracle to me.

I use music too, especially shaman music and Native American flute+drum, when i journey/meditate.
