I have a sad story I just wanted to share because it angered me to the point of losing sleep last night! Yesterday I went for my usual 4 mile walk but decided to go a different more secluded route. When I turned the corner of the road this little calico kitten (no more then 6 months old) comes running to me crying and throws herself at my feet back first. I knew the moment I heard her cries something was wrong because she wasn't just meowing she was crying almost sounding like a human child. I stopped to pet her and noticed she was nothing but skin and bones. I started to walk again to see if she would follow me and she did. Her cries getting louder and heart wrenching as I went.

I know I cannot have another pet but it was clear when I saw the cat attack a butterfly that she was thrown out of someones car and left on this secluded road to fend for herself or die. Of course I could NEVER leave her there so I put her up in my sister in laws garage and we are taking her to the vet tonight to get her checked out and spayed. Then I am hunting down a home for her unless I can guilt my mother or brother into taking her.

I just wanted to say it ticks me off to no end that it is a common practice to dump helpless animals onto a secluded road because someone no longer wants them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know what I'd like to do to the piece of dirt that did that to this beautiful cat???????????? Anyone want to help??!!!

Ok I vented....Thanks for listening!

That's terrible! Thumbs up to you for taking poor kitty in temporarily. Hope she finds a good, loving home. :) And whoever hurt her will get his come-uppance.

Poor little thing

If I was close by I would take her - my little boy would like a playmate and I am convincing my partner (very subtly) that Connor (our Tabby) would love a friend! ;)

I think Australian quarantine would not be happy! :(

Animal cruelty is something .... I can't even describe how I feel about it ... appalled, disgusted, angry, sick at heart .... but moreso!

I hope your little one finds a good and loving home! :)

Blessings

I took the cat to the vet tonight, other then being malnurished she is surprising healthy. AND...my brother is going to try and introduce her to the cat he already has if they do not get along I can keep her in the garage area of my house for now.

We named her Cally and she is according to the vet the happest cat to be found he's ever seen. (All she does is purr!!) I think it was fate I found her!!

I was just about ready to cry- I hate what some people do to animals- and this kitten was breaking my heart. Amora, that was wonderful you brought that kitten in! We have done that several times ourselves and it has always been worth it. Congrats on the new addititon to your family :) :) :)
