They came into my life a few months ago while I was researching for a short story about the Muses. There's very little information about Them that I can find, so I'm feeling my way with no real guidance, apart from my instincts. I'm a bit surprised They're still around as I'm not really much of a musician, but I'm willing to talk with Them and see where this relationship goes. I've learnt that Gods never just turn up in my life for no reason.

Has anyone worked with Them before? What sort of things, apart from music and musical instruments, could I offer them? I know Aoide wants a recorder, and Mneme seems interested in a rainstick, but I'm also looking for other things like food, drink, incense, prayers, etc. I just don't know where to start with Them as I've never worked with Greek deities before. If anyone can help me out, I'd be most grateful.

I noticed no one replied...

There isn't much info about the Elder Muses online, but I did find this link:
http://www.theoi.com/Titan/Mousai.html

http://neosalexandria.org/the-pantheon/the-mousai-the-muses -- has poems, prayers and info (Olympian Muses)

As for offerings, I'd imagine the usual offers would work. Things like libations of wine, oil, water... incense, etc
Also, the simplest idea I have is to create something for them. A poem, a song, a painting, a music piece, a hymn, etc. Dedicate the work to them as an offering. If you look at the second link I posted, there are prayers and poems others have written for them. That might give you an idea.

Here's some info about Hellenic offering practice, libations and other stuff:

Here are other hymns people have written to various gods, to give you an idea:

Hope this helps!
