Hey i just bought this pentacle and it has all these little symbols around it and i dont know what they mean. ill try to describe them as best i can. on the left side of the top point it has the number 1 with the letter T under it and the number 2 with the letter E under it. on the right side it has the numbers 1 2 3 with the letters T R A under them respectivly. then under the left arm of the pentacle are the letters TON and what looks like a 6 pointed star. Under the right arm are the letters GRA with what looks like a sword. And on the very bottom are the letters MMA and something underneath. And on the Pentacle itself little symbols are etched. Does anyone know what these things mean? please help!

I thought this was supposed to be a helpful forum, but I'm being mocked? Real nice, maybe I should go elsewhere.

I don't think anyone was mocking you. The first response seemed to be commenting on how nice the pentacle is, and I agree, it's very pretty. The second response seemed to be asking yet another question regarding a pentacle they themselves bought. I didn't see any mocking there either..

Anyway, the pentacle isn't necissarily a symbol of the Goddess. It reflects the elements and the circle of life. I wear mine for protection.. It is worn by many different people, Wiccans, Pagans, Witches, and even those that are not on a path of such.
Hope I was able to help a bit.. Sorry if the other posts seemed to be "mocking", but I really think they were being sincere. :)

Brightest Blessings,
Morrigana

No need to get angry. I dont think anyone was mocking you. Im by no means an expert or anything, but i looked at the picture of your pentacle and i don't think it has any special connection with the Goddess. For one thing it is kind of goldish and silver is more of a Goddess color. if the triple moon symbol )O( was present it would make it Goddess specific, but yours just looks like a regular pentacle to me.

Hmm.. my comment was just on how nice it was. I didn't care to offer information that I didn't know as that would just be arrogant. There's no symbols on it that make it specifically tied to Goddess, but it can depend on your interpretation I guess. From one standpoint, you could say ANY pentacle is a symbol of Goddess because the top point is supposed to represent the astral and spiritual, and the other four represent the elements and cardinal directions. See, even after talking a while, I haven't helped you.. so, i say again.. That's a nice pentacle. :)

I've always thought the pentacle to represent the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit, surrounded by the love of the Goddess. I wear mine for protection and as a physical symbol of my dedication to the Craft.

I took the picture of my pentacle with my webcam, so the colors are a little screwed, it's actually a nice shiney silver.

btw. sorry about that post last night, um.. i guess i was a little tired and irritable.

Hmm.. random thought:

"Eart, Fire, Wind, Water, Heart!"
"Your Powers combine, I am Captain Planet!"

The points of the pentacle represents earth, fire, air, water, and spirit as everyone said. It can also represent the 5 phases of Woman or the Goddess...Birth, Maiden, Mother, Crone, and Death. It depends how you feel about your pentacle, Zerofactor.

Well since I'm not exactly a woman, I think I swing more towards the earth, fire, water, air and spirit thing. ;)

I like the belief of, by wearing this penticle, that I am somehow "protected" with the power of goddess.

Yeah i ended up finding the answer to my own question. i was searching for a pentacle like mine on the net and finally found one and next to the pic it gave the name Tetragrammaton which is simply what all the letters around the pentacle spell. i still havn't quite found out what the rest of it means but i guess its got some Hebrew connections and has something to do with the Jewish faith(i dont really know) anyway then i went to this Wiccan jewelry page and they said it is supposedly the most powerful pentacle design ever concieved?? they said it provides very powerful protection. anyway i'm rambling so....yeah

And I shall one day go around preaching to the holier-than-thou people who also watched Captain Planet, and explain to them with a look of total seriousness that it was teaching children to be heretics and sinners!

Believe what you like, though traditionally the tripple moon emblem is supposed to be present for it to be specifically related to Goddess from what I have gathered in my learning. I simply think of my pentacle as means towards focusing myself; a tool like any other.
