View Full Version : Shedding light on the Six of Pentacles?

My husband and I are taking an epic adventure (trip) in two days. It will involve lots and LOTS of driving. Car is rented, hotel booked, and I decided to do a tarot reading for the trip.
I pulled four cards: the trip down there, at our destination, the trip back, & our over all feeling about the trip after returning
In the "at our destination" spot, the 6P came up.
All of the rest of them made perfect sense to me, but this one. I interpreted it to mean that if someone offers us something, accept the handout? or.. if we have excess, help some one? or am I way off? Anyone else able to shed a different light? Pentacles always throw me off.
The entire spread results (if curious) in order were: Fool, 6P, 8W, AofW

I would intrepret that as your destination has heaps to offer so make sure that you explore everything. Don't spend time in the hotel watching tv, ie turning down the handout, but take the experience your destination wants you to have.

Definitely inclined to agree here. Pentacles to me have always referred to things of an earthly nature and in this case being the 6 of Pentacles I would take it to mean that something good is coming your way... be ready to receive it. In the context of the reading my thought it that everything is there and set for you to have a good time, so take the opportunity with both hands and run with it.

6 of P I see as success, prosperity, balance, the difference in give and take vs give and receive . In relation to a trip......I would take it as you will have a happy vacation if you make sure that things are in balance. Things like budget, what each of you wants to do, sharing the driving, luxury and economy all that.

Thanks so much guys! That was much more helpful than what I came up with... or rather deeper than what I came up with.
Just this little bit has helped me understand how to better correlate the card to the actual question.

I just wanted to chime back and relay that we returned from our trip and I have to say that the whole spread was spot on. Frighteningly. And I'm loving my new deck for it.
About the 6P, I took the advice & found things to do everyday (activities I didn't even know existed until we got down there) -- it kept us very busy. This actually was a 'learn about the place because we want to move here in 18 mos' trip. And we found out a lot about the place in a short amount of time, clarified some misconceptions and discovered things we loved. Making the best use of our time there really helped us see everything that it had to offer and encouraged us to get moving even sooner :)
So thank you again!
