Don't ask how many colors there are that we can use. As you know Tanna I am in to web based programming, and there are just too many to count. There are too many colors we can use to list them all, probably your best bet would be to go buy a BIG box of Crayola's and get the names of all the different colors. Because even if you were to go and find a hex chart for all the colors that can be used in web design, I have yet to see one that actually gives a name to any of the colors on them, and some of them even utilize the full range of the known spectrum.

as far as color names... to my knowledge there are 140 color names that were initially made for use with the x windows system thingamabob.

most of those colors show up just fine when used as the variable in code for defining color, and only cause problems when people with a low color system try to access them and they dither, or shift to the nearest "web safe color"

there is a palate of web safe colors (256 in all) and there is a lot of other info relating to dithering and blah blah so on and so forth... but if you aren't a web designer you probaby won't need to worry about that stuff, so if you're not concerned with all that jazz, there are loads of pretty color names to use....

(if you can't read a name just select it and you should be able to read it just fine... ;) )
