here is the other reading. it makes a ton of sense to me!
i have always been interested and LOVE gangsters/mob guys, and never knew why! they kill people! and i have always felt i was a mobster in a past life, so when this came up, i wasn't surprised...but again, i wonder if it is a past life we shared, or have in common.

9 of Wands: you then:
first off: you were murdered. that doesn't always show up in this spot, the death issue, but here it is.
I'm getting the feeling you were involved with a mafia (which is probably why i feel so connected to you...similar past life!) i can't tell yet if it was an Italian mafia here in the states, or Asian. you were male, had a good sized family, being a father was very important to you. you were very concerned with providing for your family, making sure they had it easier than you did. you didn't spoil them at all, they still had to work hard, but you made things available to them you wished that you'd had. mostly i'm sensing you were real hungry growing up. i think your ancestors were Irish and Italian, and your family relocated to America because there was serious hardship where you were before. crops being destroyed, hunger, no work. out here your family blossomed, and eventually when you started your own family you were far better off than your ancestors had been.

4 of Wands: your life:
again this empahsizes the importance of family to you, and probably emphasizing the "other" family as well. ok, youre in the mafia, but your part is fairly innocent. i don't see you out "rubbing out" anybody.
you had an organizational position; you might have been good with numbers, so the accountant; or very logical, so in charge of setting up heists, collecting money, that kind of thing. this was great for you...you didn't have to lie to your family about anything. you didn't really have guilt about what you did. you took care of your mafia family, and your home, and you didn't have to lie or cheat to keep it all together.
the "family" you were involved with was one of the four major families in the area, so you were treated with respect and got alot of benefits from your status.

The Star: your surroundings:
this affirms that you were well known for what you contributed to your "family" and they were high up on the list. you had the perfect job, and did it well. you were appreciated, although you weren't always verbally told this, but you got lots of presents and kickbacks for what you did. you were also psychic then, but no one really called it that. i think they said you "had the feeling" ... not like, i have a feeling that ... but that it was called "having the FEELING". anyway, if you all planned on robbing a warehouse and you didn't feel it should be done on that particular night, they listened to you. you knew these things, and i think it really helped in the advancement of your group. you couldn't grow a beard and they teased you about this. why that is significant, i don't know. also, you lost one of your main people on your crew due to a boating accident, or something concerning the river. it seems like it was a strange occurance, and creeped you all out for a long time. you all may have thought ghosts were involved.

9 of Swords: your relationships:
actually, despite this card, your relationships were great. i think its the 9 because you knew a lot of friends who died...got whacked, or shot on accident, or locked up by the cops, etc. i'm sure there were probably people who were disloyal here and there, but your crew that you were in with were very tight.
i think one of the leaders or bosses had a crippling bout with cancer, and in a lot of pain. this was hard for all of you, actually i think this was your brother. so it hit you especially hard. but you didn't step up into his role when he died, you stayed where you were.

Knight of Swords: your death:
the swords really feel like guns to me. so this murder was a hit, most likely. a rival family took you out with a few others. it wasn't really over anything, i don't think it was a property issue or anything. i think they just wanted to show they could do it, and used it as a chance to "move up". you went quick, so there wasn't a long, painful death.

2 of Wands: is this life affecting you now?
well, it seems you've carried over your logic abilities, like you can see into the future, imagine what will be, see things you should avoid way ahead of time. i sense you still may have that desire to provide for people...friends, family, people you feel sorry for. you want to take them under your wing.
also, there seems to be a hot spot on you. i don't know what that means...is there somewhere on your body that gets over heated easily or at certain times?

8 of Cups: fears you carried over:
i think the loss of so many people you loved made you very - not clingy, but fearful. you may worry when you don't need to, probably because you are trying to prevent bad things. someone's face is here and i can't see who it is. here's what i'm getting, hope it makes sense; this looks like it's an old family photo, and it's a shy girl, who looks kind of coy or something. she looks like she has a secret, and she seems funny, but is sort of shy seeming. this seems like a relative of yours who is watching over you.
this may also indicate a fear of allowing your emotions to get in the way. like maybe you fear an emotion will take over you, and you won't be able to function like you want to.

9 of Coins: challenge/goal:
this seems to be about timing. saying, you need to stick in there until you see it through. but it's also saying the opposite, that you need to pull out of things when you feel it's time. so the goal is to notice how you are feeling about issues on an individual basis, and trust those feelings. you might want to put things in a little organized box (past life!) and think "EVERY time this happens, i'll do this". but you can't.
you need to look at each situation on its own, and act according to the now.
i don't know if this part is a challenge or goal, but it seems important to see things for what they are.
like, you were a mobster who was very loving and a good dad! and it's important in your life to see things like that, so you may meet people that others wouldn't like, but you are able to connect with them, because you see their core. this can apply to a lot of things: magic, energy, healing, money...when you are looking at it for what it really is, you have a tremendous handle on it, and ability to do what you want or need to in any situation.

* note: by this time i was pretty convinced this was me, so i started short-handing it. i've tried to elaborate to see if this would apply to you...

7 of Coins: talents you carried over:
again with the nurturing. the psychic ability comes up as well, and the moon influence is very important for you. i immediately thought of animals when seeing this card, and so i think this is about communication with animals and concern for the earth and extinction of animals. this card also shows herbs and healing plants, which could indicate a love for them, knowledge of or capability with these. and the importance of water is coming up, that it is necessary for you and meaningful in ways more than just "i am thirsty".

temperance: summary:
here there are two birds and a snake
not sure if this means anything to you, but it certainly would be talking about spiritual connection and communication and messages (psychic info) (the birds) as well as healing abilities and energy (snake) also this could be an indication of your radical "rebirth" into paganism, or whatever (not only the shedding of the old skin, but the literal symbolism of the devil, and how christians think paganism = satan worship!)

there is also light and color energy all over the place, so i wonder if this is something you are interested in or have a natural ability for. the yin yang symbol is here, which may indicate an interest in Eastern medicine, healing modalities such as acupuncture, reiki, martial arts. the yin yang symbol has hands of healing light holding it, which i think may have to do with the energy you put out when you do readings.

anyway, this is the other reading...i don't know that we are similar in this life also, but i wouldn't be too shocked if we were!!

Wow....Redhead...this is absolutely amazing!

Yes..I've always been fascinated by the Mafia...in all forms. Lately, i've become incredibly fascinated with the Irish Mafia. I don't want to go into detail too much about this...but.. there has also been an emphasis on the Asian and Italian mob in my life (no..i'm not in any of these, nor did I have any major run ins with them..but..they are topics which have arisen frequently in my life, and in the life of friends that I have known). I could go into more detail via pm, if you would like.

In this life, I am TERRIBLE at mathmatics. I have a learning disability for numbers and sequences. Perhaps because of my past life experiences, I decided in this life that the LAST thing I wanted to do, was be a number cruncher?

Having the feeling.. okay..this REALLY freaked me out. About six years ago, a resident of a neighboring town to where I grew up, went to manhattan for New Years Eve in Times Square. He went missing. There was a HUGE search for him, it was ALL over the press. I read the story, and when I saw his picture, i remembered seeing him at a local nightclub that I frequented. I remembered that when I saw him, I said to my friend "Look at this guy..doesn't he look like a mob boy?" (he had that slick, greased look that is associated with the italian mafia). So..when I saw his picture in the paper..the first thing I did was call this friend, and say.."Remember that night we were at the club, and... " and then said.."Heather, I HAVE A FEELING that they will find him floating in the East River" (an implication that perhaps he had crossed the wrong people). Sure enough...... that is where they found him...floating in the East River.

Here is a link to the story about this death: http://www.pcnr.com/news/Column/04-10-02.html

I could totally confirm this story with you, about my feeling, if I can manage to get in touch with the old friend who I used to go clubbing with.

I called a friend of mine, to tell him about the story, and my "Feeling" and he told me "Be careful what you say, and how loud you say it, there are people out there who wouldn't like your 'psychic gift' ". That was enough to make me keep my mouth shut for a while.

When you mentioned beards, I also laughed. As a child, I was TERRIFIED of men with beards. Now..I'm married to one. LOL. But when I was very small, I would run screaming from the room if a man with a beard entered. This included a couple of my Uncles, who sported beards.

Yes..I do like to take people under my wing, and provide for others.

The photograph you mentioned was particularly creepy. When my mother was cleaning out my grandmothers attic, she found a very old "family bible". The leather on it was old, cracking, and falling apart. It had a big gold lock on it, and the key was stuck in the binding. We brought it to a historian for him to open it, without damaging the book. The pages were filled with pictures of long deceased relatives, and related families. Many of which were not labeled, at all. So we have no clue who some of the people in the album are. One of the pictures was of a little girl, with a smiling, mischeivous expression. She was probably about six or seven years old in the photo. I was always drawn to that photo, and tried very hard to figure out who it was..to no success. Oddly enough, this past year, I was tracing the OTHER side of my family, and found a picture of my Great Grandmother, who had a very similar expression on her face to the little girl in this picture. They are not the same person.. however, part of me wonders if whether this "Little Girl" became my Great Grandmother in another life (The little girl may have died very young) ..because the expression was SO similar.

The brother with cancer...

This is also odd. My mothers brother died of colon cancer. And she took it so very hard. I avoided seeing him shortly before his death, and I carried around alot of guilt about it for a long time. I just could NOT deal with seeing him waste away like that. I wanted to remember him in his healthy days.

Worry is my constant companion..so that made sense too.

The only real connection that I can see with water, is that I refuse to go swimming in most lakes, rivers, and definitely, the ocean. Why? I have a terrible uh...let's say "respect" for sharks, and other waterbound creatures. I have a major aversion to seafood of all types (I can only eat tunafish ..the type you get in a can). So maybe I developed this fear of the water in this past life. You mentioned the connection to animals in the other reading too, and I confirmed that :)

Birds have often been my messengers. Birds come to me in the strangest of ways. One day at the laundrymat, a bird flew into a closed window right in front of me, and fell to the ground. I ran outside, and held it in my hands for about fifteen minutes. Finally, the shock wore off, and the little guy flew away, then came back, and landed in a rafter above my head. He stared down at me, and twittered away for quite a long time. Another time, one flew into an open window in my office. This ending was not so happy. The shock of my cats (though they didn't physically harm him) Gave him a heart attack I believe..he died. I always look up the meaning of bird totems, whenever one comes to me in such a strange way, or seems particularly persistant in "chatting" to me. I've managed to glean alot of information that way.

I'm not sure about the snake/doctor thing, though, yes, I have always been interested in healing, herbs, etc.

And yes...eastern philosophy/magic/traditions/culture has also always fascinated me.
