View Full Version : Please help with interpretation

Hello All,

I did an interesting reading for myself yesterday and I was hoping for some help on the interpretation. I would also like to know anyone's opinion on cards that fall out of the deck while shuffling because I had two of those with this reading as well. I will give as much detail about the reading as possible without telling anything about my situation as to not muddy the waters- I like to do my own readings but I think it helps to get another to help with the interpretation. Well I hope there are some of you who have the time to take a look, if so, please let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Deck: New Palladini
Spread: Celtic Cross with the following designations:

1.Subject
2.Crosses subject
3. past events
4. coming in or going out
5. near future
6. within weeks
7. fears/concerns
8. family/friends
9. subconscious
10. outcome

the positions of this spread have the first two crossing, the third on the top, the fourth on the right, fifth on the bottom, and sixths to the left. The rest are 7,8,9,10 from the lower right to the top. I only mentioned this because the first way I learned was to have 3-6 be counterclockwise.

Question: "What are the forces surrounding my current and future relationship with [name]"

During shuffling two cards dropped out:

First – 9 of swords reversed
Second- 8 of rods

Reading:

1.Subject – The Fool (reversed)
2.Crosses subject – 3 of swords
3. past events – 9 of rods (reversed)
4. coming in or going out – The Chariot
5. near future -- Temperance
6. within weeks – King of Swords
7. fears/concerns – 4 of rods
8. family/friends – Knight of Pentacles (reversed)
9. subconscious – Knight of Rods (reversed)
10. outcome – Knight of Swords

Particularly interested in any significance of the three knights in a row. Also I would like to mention that I did a spread for the year on new year day (I drew two cards for each month) and I drew the king of swords and the 4 of rods in that reading for this month (march) but they were reversed in my reading for the year but upright in this reading.

Well there it is … please let me know if you have any thoughts.

Thank you very much.

GDA

**PS- I would be happy to reciprocate, but please note that while I have done a number of readings for others, I have not done one for someone who was not present with me at the time. However I am willing to try- I have Universal Waite, Aquarian, and New Palladini. (I also have cat people, marseille, and native but not with me at the moment).

I always have cards fall out. I read those, and if I need to go more in-depth I will do a layout or draw more cards until I understand more.

I'd love to be able to help here--but unlike many readers, I don't read cards with the traditional meanings of the cards.

Let me explain, because I didn't even understand that!

Each card has it's own "traditional" meaning right? Well, I never go by that. For me, sometimes it's a tiny bird that may be in the corner of the card or three petals on a flower that catch my eye.

Basically, I interpret cards in my own little way. I also don't read reversed cards. (I think my OCD has something to do with that.)

If I could though offer a suggestion about the following card pertaining to your question:

7. fears/concerns – 4 of rods--There is a lot of work that is going to be needed here. You are probably in the midst of it now, but there is a lot more to come. You're worried if it's worth it, but deep down you seem to think it is. With the Knight of Swords as the outcome, I see it as being favorable. The work will pay off. Every relationship takes work to succeed but some take more than others. I think that may be the case here.

(Sorry sometimes once I start, more comes to me!) :)

As far as cards falling out--many times I just put them back in the deck, but sometimes if it keeps happening, I pay attention to the cards that fall. I find that many times, it's the same cards and there is a reason that they want "attention."

I had a psychic read my cards one time and the same card fell out in three different decks! She told me that this was for a special reason and that I should go home and meditate on that card in one of my own decks. My dreams that nite were very vivid.

You may want to try that sometime just to see what happens! :)

Two things - when cards fall out, I find sometimes they are saying something, but other times they aren't. For instance, I have tiny hands, so I'm invariably dumping cards. It's up to you to consider whether the card is important - stop for a moment, and since you'll already be set up to receive messages, just quietly think about it. Does the card fit in? Should it be read after the others? Will it clarify other cards? And even if you do keep it, when you go to interpret it, keep yourself open to it's message or lack thereof.

Before I'd say much about your reading, I have to ask, what did you get from it? Since you did the reading for yourself undoubtedly the cards have meaning that only you will understand. What is unclear to you? What does it say to you? Specifically, what are you asking for help with? After all, I could just type out the meaning of each card from a book but that probably wouldn't be useful. Finally, since you're using a deck, the artwork on the cards you use is going to be what gets the messages across, so the artwork isn't going to be the same on my deck - and thus isn't going to convey the same thing.

Some initial thoughts are that the fool's reversed - that means be wary of new beginnings, you might be acting foolish or can't trust your own feelings. The 3 of Swords might suggest a third person crossing the relationship. or a third person who's causing someone worry, and suggests major problems between two people. It may just be saying there is more to this then meets the eye, that you don't know the whole story. The reversed 9 also suggests jumping headlong into something without thinking. Another thing, no cups here, which is very odd in a relationship spread.

So, since I'm using a different deck, I'm not sure if this'll make sense. Besides that, I find it helpful to have someone here so I can discuss what I'm seeing and go from there.

Incidentally, even my listing for the Celtic cross spread is different. Mine goes 3, 4, 5, 6 from bottom clockwise. So your 3 would be my 5, your 4 my 6, your 5 my 3, and your 6 my 4.

1.the inquirer
2.crossing the inquirer or subject, worries, problems
3. foundation of the question
4.past
5.appearance to the outside world
6.near future
7.subconscious feelings, self
8.friends and outside influences
9.hopes and fears
10.final outcome

I'm not saying either is right at all, just that that's another thing that makes this kind of difficult.

For instance, I have tiny hands, so I'm invariably dumping cards.

Me too!

I finally got one of those small tiny pocket decks and tend to use that quite a bit. I also keep them in my purse at all times--just in case. ;)

Thanks for all your help ... all I can say for sure is that the three of swords was created for me in this situation I am in now- but the rest I couldn't interpret well. I just want to make sure I don't make any big mistakes now or do anything foolish- I think I really need to focus on Temperance as best I can.

Thanks again and feel free to offer any suggestions on a clarification reading if you have any thoughts on this.

Best wishes.

Are there two different men involved?

GDA
March 14th, 2003, 10:51 PM
there is one other man involved besides me. At the moment her and I are close friends- right now it doesn't seem like we will ever be closer- the other man is younger than me- and she thinks of him as a boy (he is 20, she is 23)- says she feels maternal towards him- I figure he would be a page if he showed up in the reading while I would be a knight (I am in my late 20s). Hard to figure out but one thing is for sure- my emotions fluctuate about this as fast and as strong as anything in my life ever has. the fool reversed and the three of swords almost confirm my faith in this whole process- there is no "maybe I didn't shuffle enough" or anything like that .... the fool reversed in the new palladini interpretations include the phrases "rash thinking, possible drastic decisions" ... just what I am trying to avoid... begging for temperance right now!!!

Anyway- thanks for all your input thus far.

Dave

Ok I take you and he to be two of the knights, even though I can understand why you'd see the other as a page (as pages are often considered younger people).

This is why I ask, the two knights are important, they came up in my reading of only 3 cards. I think you've interpreted well, as far as having temperance and not being rash. Have patience.. I know that's easier said then done though :)

Today she left on a trip overseas for one week .... it was a personal family thing- wondering if you might interpret the chariot as being related?

As far as the three knights- is it possible that they all represent people or perhaps aspects of my personality? Such as if I am not temperant I might end up the inverted knight of pentacles, but if I can be patient and forward thinking that I can be the upright knight of swords?

Anyway- I have probably analyzed this enough and just need to focus on the temperance card as much as I can.

Thanks for all of your input.
