Well it was fun while it lasted, but due to cost constraints and the lack of job availability in my area for even the most unskilled positions, I will be losing the Internet soon.. :(

Sign up for free dialup, like NetZero.

It offers only a few hours a month but is better then nothing.

Go from free dial up to dial up until you can catch up. Oh, and most libraries have some internet access...
you could see us there.. and us you. Boy this sucks.

:( I've really been enjoying your posts. As someone else suggested, I'd go from free service to free service until things work out.

I'm not sure if it's available in Texas, but there's a good one here that's less than $10 per month.

BTW, don't feel alone. The job situation in our neighboring state sucks too. I have friends who have been out of work for nearly a year.

are you using dial up? If so, get one of them thar AOL discs
that has free time on it. They're like roaches, they're everywhere.
Last time I looked they were at the post office. I cant stand AOL,
but as my friend said, "after I used up the free time and I called to
cancel they kept giving me more free time!" this went on for half
a year. AOL should offer some extension of their service when you
call to cancel, they hope you will forget to call after the 30 days so
they can start billing you. heheheh, is cool scam.

worth a shot.

I have cheap-o dialup. It is unlimited minutes for a year for a flat rate that works out to about $10/mo. It can be painfully slow (it's usually between 48000 and 56000bps...lowest it's gone and still functioned was 1900bps) but MW is always rather quick.

The company I subscribe to is called Nucleus, but it's local so that doesn't really help you! I'd look out for a similar service...there's probably at least a few out there. If you're willing to put up with the hassles and network slow-downs of dialup, it's well worth the $$.
