I was given a Celtic Tree Oracle last year for my birthday by a very good friend of mine...it has a booklet and everything, but I'm saddened to say that it reads like stereo instructions and I can't use it! Does anyone know how that can explain it to me in laymen's terms?

Much love and blessings,

Rae )0(

I ran a search to see if I could find anything of interest...... no such luck...yet.
I have a friend who has this system(i think) I will call her tomorrow and see if she has any recommendations or ideas. She also works in a metaphysical bookstore :)
I'll let ya know if I find anything.:)

I did a search too
http://www.google.com/search?q=Celtic+Tree+Oracle+&btnG=Google+Search
and got not much either ~ just a bunch of sales sites....sorry...

It looks just like a deck of Tarot cards ~ so i'd suggest that you just really get to know the deck ~ sit and meditate or just relax and look into each picture ~ do they start to speak to you at all? What do they say? What feelings do you get from each card?
If you have a great call for these cards then just go for it and let them call you! trust yourself ~ you dont need to read a book or learn from another ~ although this backs you up all the knowledge is in yourself... :D

Id also post a thread in Tarot asking everyone there :)

Good Luck they look beauitful!

I bought a very good book (can'y even remember the title now), & while I felt the author knew his stuff, I just couldn't make heads or tails of it, practically speaking.

PS You might try searching for ogham.

Unfortunately lots of instructions on the Celtic Tree Oracle read like how to build an MFI sink unit. I was part of a large Scottish group that worked in the Irish/Scottish Celtic Pagan Tradition (now Norse) and the advice I was given then is still good. Get yourself a copy of the Robert Graves book "The White Goddess", you ought to be able to find it in a book bookshop like Waterstones or Borders without problem. It gives several of the old tree poems, songs and what they mean, it goes into the ogham alphabet. I would say learn the background through this book, don't let the Christian references in it put you off, it is a really good source book, then use the oracle as you feel intuitively inclined. Like tarot, the instruction books are only fit for burning! The best of luck! It is a great oracle.
