Hi Everyone!
My name is Danielle and I am new to this forum.
I have a question that I am hopeing someone can answer for me. I was told that I am a Daughter of the Moon. I am not sure what this is and I can not find anything on the internet or any books that explain it. Can someone please help me by explaining what this?
Thanks
Danielle

Well...in paganism, most look at the moon as a symbol of the Goddess. So the phrase "daughter of the moon" would mean "daughter of the goddess". Hope this helps :)

Thanks for your help! However, I have another question...Is there any significance to the name? It is common or not so common?
Astrology, tarot (which I have been slowly trying to teach myself over the years) and paganism (which I know very little about) have always interested me and I would like to learn more.
Thanks again for you help! :)

You've come to the right place to find answers to questions on the topics you mentioned. Browse around the forums and check 'em all out; we have a Tarot forum and a Divination forum. Of course, there's also New Pagans which you have already found. Just Talk is a great place to ask random questions, too. Don't be afraid to talk with the people and voice your opinions about things; we tend to respect people here, and ignorance isn't a damnable sin here as it is most places.
I'm James, and I am also very new to paganism in general. I've found some really great people here who know all sorts of interesting things. Erincelt, Flaire, Kaylara and even Marchosais have helped quite a deal to broaded my thoughts on things in general. The fellowship and understanding at this site is unsurpassed in any forums on any subject I have ever seen.
That said, it's a pleasure to meet you. Welcome to Mysticwicks. Stay a while and listen to yourself; you might learn something you never realized you knew.

Daughter of the Moon is a rather flowery way of saying witch. and no, i don't think i'd say it was common - rather pretty though.
there's a beautiful song that the Pretenders have done called 'Hymn to Her', and one of the lines is...
"I dress as your daughter when the Moon becomes round,
You'll be my Mother when everything's gone."

It was a psychic (she was not at a fair or one that I found in the phone book) and I only met her once. :) I do realize that she could be making it up. But since I saw her a few things that she said would happen have happened and that makes me lean towards believing her than not.
Why do you ask?

If it helps, if you're talking about someone who considers someone a "daughter of the moon" or daughter of the Goddess, you're probably talking about someone who feels we are all children of the Goddess. She might've just meant that you are more in tune with that, which would make sense since you're interested in Paganism, or at least open minded to it.

I just wanted to make sure. I've been bs'd by so many people that I'd hate it to happen to anyone else. And I'm just plain nosey. And skeptical. I've met waaaaay to many 'fantasy prone' people.
