I have been studying and reading for the past year; even recently started to "stock" my cupboard. Any suggestions on where to go next? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Meet Sunflower! I hope that you like it here. Ideas for good books can be found in the books forum... Any particular things you are looking for?

Well, you said you've been studying and reading. I would say continue to study and read and start practicing actual rituals, etc.

Welcome to the community! :D

Merry Meet Sunflower!

How about visiting your local New Age/Occult shop and finding out if they have any workshops. It's a great way to meet people and also these workshops have all types of classes on herbs, crytals, ritual, meditation, magick, etc.

Bright Blessings!

Welcome to the both of you!!! :sunny: Pour yourselves a glass of lemonade and have a seat on one of Kaylara's comfy things. Don't be shy and feel free to speak your mind. :D Everyone here does.

Sunflower, when advancing in rituals be careful. Always listen to your heart and don't do anything you're not sure you're ready for. Others here will be able to help you proceed better than I, but that's my 2 cents worth. :)

:sunny: Brightest blessings to you both!!! :sunny:

I'll try not to! Although I have sooooo many questions, it is hard to know where to begin. How long have you been practising?

Come on up to the porch and relax with a tall glass of
bluecat's lemonade, and ask the family questions, we
are all here to help. :)

I have been practicing for about 38 years, and the best part
is that I am still learning.
My heartfelt thanks to all of you for helping to make me a
better woman and becoming stronger in the Goddess. :sunny:

MysticWicks Spam - 1) a 50 year old blob of the afore mentioned mystery meat that has teeth, moves, thinks it is a chameleon and can change colors when ever it wants, but is assuredly hosebroken 2) a weapon often used in the thread Can This Be Right?!?!?!***

***For further refrenses please see the afore mentioned thread. Warning: Go in at your own risk! Flying globs of spam juice may be hazerdous to your health.

but I was wondering how some of you came to this path?

It took me a couple of years of reading to finally decide that this was for me. For years I had many missing pieces to my somewhat puzzled life; finally one by one the pieces started coming together once I found what was best for me. I even found myself along the way.

Seeing that I am Catholic and not pagan, I am not sure if my answer will do you any good, but here it is.

I grew up Catholic, but eventually rebeled against it completely. I didn't go conciously searching for a path till recently and the path just led me back to my Catholic begins, with a touch of my own spice. :) It has not mattered which direction I have gone in life, I always end up in the same place. I am happy with the path I have chosen though, because something inside tells me that is right for me.

I, actually, discovered this path after reading an article on Beltane in April. After reading and gathering info, I felt that this was what I had been ment to do all along.

Someone read the Tarot for me and it was intensely accurate and unexpected. I started having a read around about learning to interpret the Tarot and ended up reading a lot about the craft and Wicca, especially on the net.

One of my favourite sites is www.oldways.com if you want to have a look.

I started simply by looking at nature around me, noticing what phase the moon was in etc and I heard this 'ping' I get when something's absolutely right. So that's how I got here I guess. I'm still very much a learner, but anyone here will tell you - you never stop learning!

Bright Blessings,

Kiya :sunny:

Hi, my name is Micaela and am also new to this path. I came to it quite by accident through all the reading I do, and I'm glad I did. Now I know where I'm going.

I know that I need to continue learning all I can and I was very surprised to find that I am enjoying the learning. When I was in school (too many years ago) I wasn"t all that good of a studier. That didn't mean I didn't read, I just didn't read any textbooks.

I am very glad that I have found this site. I have read many of the postings and they're great. This site was another of my happy accidents.

Sunflower
as to how I came across my path...I was reading a book and it described the persons handfasting (it was a true story) and it was just the most beautiful thing I have ever heard of...so I started looking into it and studying it and realized that it was just the way I have been feeling for a long time...(I'm Christian/Wiccan btw....a lot of people don't agree with my path...but that's what I am!! and I'm very happy with it!!)
