In the process of rewriting the texts of our Tradition, someone came up with the idea of a Museicism-specific rendition of a Wicca 101 class. Part of the concept, is we could have the class and the introductory 'book' follow the same format, with the 'book' expanding the material further, and maybe exploring some tangents which the class does not.
So... lucky me, as usual, gets to make this happen. Good thing I have no life, huh? ;) I've been trying to figure out a way to arrange the topics in a way that keeps them roughly in order of the importance we place on them... so this is my initial agenda:
-- Introduction/Disclaimer/What to expect/What is expected
-- Q&A, 3 questions
-- History of Wicca, and of the Tradition
-- God and Goddess
-- Core Tenets: Rede, LoR, Resp, etc
-- The Muse
-- The Nine Sisters
-- Great Work
-- Death and Afterlife
-- Ritual: Reason, Framework
-- Sabbats
-- Esbats
-- Elements: Purpose, Definitions
-- Regarding other Traditions
-- Regarding other faiths
-- Reality of magic
-- Q&A, cards passed forward
Notice there's barely any mention of magic until the very end, which is nothing but an explanation of what we believe magic is. Museic practice puts no emphasis whatsoever on magic, but rather all on religion. If an individual chooses -- as I have -- to be a Magician as well as Museic Wiccan, fine. But they will be studying magic on their own.
Well... comments, suggestions, questions, whatevers?? :)
And if anyone has any hard-earned lessons from giving these 101-type classes before, I'd be much appreciative if you'd share them.
