Okay so i have the rider-waite deck but really it doesn't do anything for me! But i love the sacred circle deck and i so understand that one! Do you suggest learning a certain one or is it my choice?
thanks

I'd say go with the one that "speaks to you"! If the other one (rider-waite) doesn't speak to you, it wont be of any use to you anyway :)
I'd go with the sacred circle one if I were you.
Blessed be and good luck with learning tarot...

I agree! Go with a deck that speaks to you! (If you are going to be going to www.learntarot.com or following the classes here, the rider-waite deck will come in handy as it's what is referred to in the lessons...so just use that deck to follow along) I suggest 3 keywords per card are learned, and used as a "jumping off point". If you have a book that goes along with the Sacred Circle deck, that will come in very handy too! Usually the author of the deck will let you know why they chose certain symbolism. :D
I have about 6-8 decks. I find I really like the Robin Wood Tarot deck the best.....so far. ;)

Yeah i've been to the site i've read most of it! The sacred circle has a book and i'm on the minors right now and it's really informative! Tells you whats on the card and symbolism and the meaning and the reversed meaning!
thanks for all your help you guys are fast at replying!

Don't forget to look at the thread that I have "STUCK" near the top, it will show you the name of the threads you can find the information in here at the forum, though it may be buried a couple pages back. Just go to the bottom, and you can view the previous pages of threads. :D

it's really important that you can form a "connection" with your cards. They are, after all, and extention of your spritual energy...
I have used many decks... and have settled among preferences... i think it's great that you can feel the difference between decks... it shows that you're actually putting your energy into it.. rather than just forcing the issue.
many blessings on your path ahead.

When I first went to the mall to buy a Tarot deck I was planning on buying the Rider-waite deck. (Well truefully I felt obligated to buy it because you know that little book that comes with it? Well my friend let me borrow it and my parents accidentally washed it.) I was about to buy it when I saw the Thoth deck. It seemed as if it screamed Buy me Buy me. It was weird... but I kno wthat they were the ones for me. Nor 10 minutes after I had opened them, i had realized that I forgot about my friends book. I called when I got home and told her the whole thing... SHe didn't speak to me for well... About 4 weeks now.8O BUt I think she will forgive me. Something about the Big hug bear card she sent me the week after... I felt horrible. So I am in the process of writing her up everything word for on my Computer... If any of you could help me I would most appreciate it.
