View Full Version : Sub for stones?

I am in the middle of making my own spell to obtain a new home.
And in Scott C's book Air Wind Fire Water, the stones used in that spell are obsidian, onyx, apache tear, or hmatite.
Now I do not have any of these stones and do not have the means or money to buy them.
Is there any thing I can use in substatue? The spell calls for herbs as well, but I have them already.
thank you!

Maybe try looking at the elements associated w/ those particular stones and use something associated w/ those elements ... for example ... if Hematite's element is Fire ... why not use a red candle or and oil burner or something you associate the element of Fire with (don't quote me on Hematite's element being fire though, as I could be wrong) ...
Blessed Be.

Usually you can substitute stones you don't have with any stones of the same color (unless you're doing really advanced things with them) for example, in your case you could substitute any black stone, even one you find on the street.
Also, a plain quartz crystal is a good substitute for or amplifier to just about anything.

Hmmm, I agree with Haruka's suggestion of using clear quartz. You can actually "program" clear quartz to accomplish the abilities of any other stone, just hold it and visualise it first being filled with white light. Then breathe into it and see all the past influences and programming being removed from it with the breath as it passes "through" it. Then you can visualise your goal (in this case, the home you want and the closing etc) and "breathe" it into the quartz. The quartz will hold this programming until you clear it, which I suggest doing as soon as you've accomplished your goal.
You might also try:
red jasper, bloodstone, smoky quartz (all root chakra stones and root chakra is to do with security, home, wellbeing, stability etc)
aventurine, bloodstone, green agate, jade, malachite and lapis lazuli are all good for business success (or in this case, business dealing/buying success)
carnelian is good for manifestation in general
That's all I can think of for now :)
Good luck!

You might want to check out mu thread on Healthy Pagan about crystals and their uses I have a list of crystals and their uses for both magical and healing use. Here's the link to the one I think will be most of use for you.

Sorry to blatantly plug my own thread but since I'm not sure what you fully want the stones for I'll have to let you do the book work yourself :). Also this one may help you a little.

Well the problem is the only thing is I do not have a way to buy these stones or crystals. TYhe only thing I have is a bunch of river rocks, there are a bunch of diff kinds, looks like a few that would be useful, but I can not identify them.
I have gone online and tried to find pics, but it is hard b/c i dont know the names of the stones, and I have no way to find out.

I could find stones that look like the ones I have, but what if I use them and they Re the wrong rocks?
