Runes

I'm going to do a customized ritual for Samhain, and need some help on where to put my runes.

I know a couple runes that would be suitable for my purpose, so my question is should I just use one, and where should I put them? I'm thinking of etching them on the candle I'm using, or putting them in pen on my palms or around my arms. What do you think?

I suppose it would depend on the nature of the rune. If the affect was intended for me I'd put it on my body. If it was more general, probably a candle. And I personally don't see a problem with using more than one but I'm no rune expert!
