I hope my title doesn't irritate people, it's the best way I could articulate the subject of my question.

Can magic strengthen or weaken existing processes?

As an example, I'm transgender, and 22. I'll be starting on hormones soon, and although I'm not really old I'm certainly not in the youngest most effective age group. It does still have me worried, although maybe the concern is unnecessary.

What I'm asking is, would magic be able to weaken the effects of my own natural testosterone levels until I can get on hormones, mitigating the damage a bit? When I am on them, is it possible it could help enhance the effect of them, or help make my body more receptive? I would also appreciate some examples of what to do, if such a thing is possible.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Even I am woman born woman, I would like to answer you. I doubt whether magic could alter your homon-levels directly, but it could have an indirect effect on them. By making you feeling more the way you want, to become more the person "outside" you are already inside, by giving you strength for your thorny way, this could influence your hormon-levels.
I suffer of migraines, which are caused of an imbalance of my serotonine-levels. Last wednesday, I got a kind of blow in my job and I do not know how I finished the day. Even I had avoided all triggers, I got a heavy migraine nexr day. This is a very common reaction.
The case should be much stronger by using rituals - even in my case I cannot take magical influence on the migraine. But I get the strength to fight against problems BY using magic.... So I would use magic all the way. Enhancing my spiritual strength and becoming the one, I already am.
The Divine, how ever you'll define it, bless you. Hug from Antaea

Thanks for the speedy response. I greatly appreciate the consideration. I guess I dare to hope a bit too much. ^^;;

I know how the migraine problem feels, I carry a bottle of Excedrin with me whenever I go to class. If only because acting in a manner that will earn the approval of others gives me a very bad migraine. To the point where I cover my head with a book by the end of the day to keep the dim light from outside shining into my eyes.

Anyway, maybe there is still someone out there who might have had some experiences that could help me, I'll continue daring to hope, so if any of you out there has some additional advice, I'd still really appreciate it.

According to Raven Kaldera learning to shapeshift helped his gender crossing tremendously

Don't recall exactly where, you'll have to find it, I'm afraid
