About 10 mins ago its like 5 in the morning, I was laying in bed, I had waken up for no good reason. (after not sleeping at all last night) I was lying there and at first I was hearing this weird sound I thought it was my brother in the next room, but he was sleeping. Anyway I was lying there trying to sleep, and (damn this scared the living crap out of me) I hear in a whisper, "Sarah, it's after four.." It sounded like a young person, maybe like 10-15. It sounded like it was going to say more but I started so hard, I almost screamed. And it, the voice, was close to my head......
It did not sound like it was trying to scare me or anything. I just couldnt help but become startled.
But it was such a creeepy whisper though.

I've had that happen once or twice.. it's creepy.
Last time it happened I think I lay in bed for a good 15 minutes thinking "did I think that? I don't think I thought that.."
It always seems to happen when you're trying to fall asleep... and it always succeeds in doing the exact opposite, leaving you staring at the ceiling, wide-eyed, thinking "did I just think that?"

It happens when you're near sleep because you're really "open" in that spot where you're drifting between awake and sleep-time.
Actually sometimes I intentionally do magical work while dozing or just before I wake up because of that.

I had that happen to me a few months back. After the voice called my name. I heard a "hiss" a few minutes later. The voice didn't bother me. The hiss did.
You ever notice too, people appear when you're about to fall asleep too. THAT freaks me out.

Yep, I usually see shadows or reflections - like a reflection in the monitor or television.
I will never, ever get used to that!

Sometimes I hear my Mom calling my name... only its not when im falling asleep... its usually in a busy part of the day... and almost always I find myself looking around to see what she wants...
She died in 1995. :(

When that first started happening years ago (or as far back as I can remember) I was completely freaked out to the point where I didn't want to go to sleep. I guess I got used to it, altho sometimes I think I just answer back when I hear my name, cuz I'm already half dozed.

I used to have that happen to me too. Not as much recently. However, I do remember once, back when I was a teen, I had just finished watching a documentary on "Rasputin" who had always terrified me, I always got the creeps just looking at that mans pictures. Anyway...I was in bed after watching this documentary, and was just having a really hard time falling asleep, being so unsettled, so I started to flip over in my bed, and toss off the covers, and when I went to turn over, I saw this errie "Greenish" face less than a foot away from mine. Hovering in the air. I let out a yelp, and shut my eyes, and when I reopened them, the face had vanished. I often wonder if it was a "hallucination" which can occur in those moments between sleep and wakefulness, or if there was really something there.

On occasion I hear the "voices" too. I've gotten use to it. There are times (and this seems strange) that I miss those voices. But what I have a hard time getting use to...is those shadows (for lack of a better word). When I see them, I usually get an odd, its-not-suppose-to-be-there feeling with it. I either startles me or scares me. But once I become aware of them, they dissipate (for lack of a better word again). They have never tried to hurt me, but the feeling of them waiting for me to let my guard down is there. Strange indeed.

You don't have to worry until they start pulling your covers back up for you and all that sort of thing. *eep* I'm followed by little nuisances so I know how ya feel. :) Its like a family trait... my great-grandmother (father's mother's mother) has had coffee with her mother-in-law before... nevermind that she's been dead for a couple of decades. Ah well. ;) What's death to prevent you from having a good cup of coffee, eh? :D

phsychology will say that it's your mind doing it to you whilst you're falling a sleep or trying to fall asleep.
but nobody really knows the truth behind anything.
i've gotten pretty much used to the voices, but there was one, unknown male voice that yelled at me rather loudy "ASSHOLE!"
that was annoying.
