All I can say is... more sadness :(

http://www.jesushatessmut.com/

I just don't understand people like this... I'm sitting here looking at [just] the front page and I find that my mouth is hanging open at the depravity of it all. The put forth this disclaimer (towards the bottom of course)...

Disclaimer read before pissing and moaning

But does this make it ok? I mean, I was on the page for awhile before I actually found the disclaimer.

I guess my point is just that sites like this make me sad. The hatred and negativity it spreads [even as a joke] is so detrimental to everyone.

I guess I'll get myself down off this soapbox. I'm going to ground and spend some good time with my kids. I just wanted to share.

The owner of the site comes into Trish Telesco's club on Yahoo occcasionally ~ he swears his site is a joke, but I have trouble believing that.

It seems really thought-out and detailed to be a joke. :( I wish people would stop using their internet superpowers for evil.

Let me have the soapbox, so I can bury those lowlifes in it. :)

Let's see, they mentioned Pagan, Atheist, Homosexual,
Wiccans, Feminazis(a word from Rush Limberger),
Evolutionist, Baby killers, etc.-----they left out transsexuals,
hey, I demand the same equal time to be hated too! ;)

The future of christianity......let it remain in the past as a
shameful reminder of patriarchy.

To believe what you see is to be deceived.

It's a joke. A sad, stupid, unfunny joke. The truly bad part is that some might take it seriously and agree.

Not even worth looking at or replying to them, they just feed on our anger.

Oh and there are no disabled Christians getting offended over this???

Yes this site's a joke.
But if you want to see a *funny* joke Christian site head to www.landoverbaptist.org

At least that's funny.

Yeah, but the people at that church are serious, and that is scary...

At which church? The Landover church? That's satire--it isn't a real church.

*steps up to the soapbox*

*sigh* It hurts to see this kind of stuff made in the Lord's name, whether it is a joke or not. :( I am sorry that anyone, no matter what creed or sexual preference, should ever see that.

Not everything Christian is shameful. In fact I am quite proud to be of that path. You will find stuff like this no matter what the creed though. It is sad and not right, but true. I have met people who label themselves as Wiccan who are an offense to everything that Wiccans hold to be sacred. These sick "Christians" are no different. There are a lot of good Christian churches though too and there are a lot of good people in them.

*sigh* Again I apologize for anyone at all having to view that. :( I pray that the Lord may show them the error of their ways.

i haven't looked at the website that started this, i will but it's not my problem, this is. whatever anyone may say this communtity tries to welcome people of good will, it's a pagan site, by and for pagans, that also welcomes christians who respect our beliefs and come in friendship. to be blunt the "future of christianity" and the future of paganism are and will be inextricably linked in our society. we are here, we are not going away but by the same token we are not going to "conquer" or replace christianity. it will continue to exist as long as it fills a need in its people as our various paths do for us. so what we need to do is begin learning to live together in peace. one way to begin that is to refrain from damming other's beliefs and religions for alleged historical crimes. i may not seem the "scholar" type but i've learned a good bit over many years and there is this, every religion, every god(ess) has his/her dark side. ancient practises no longer followed. mine, (mithras) included. we are living now, today and we are not part of the possible grim deeds of a thousand years ago. i suggest that before throwng in a slam against any group we stop and think before tapping the send button. thank you all for your courtesty in listening.

Good words, gunner. Thank you.

I had read this but chose to bite my tongue and bide my time.

I believe there is a time for satire and humor and that is how I see the landover church thing, the other one seems openly inciting.

We must be careful ourselves of making certain statements, especially blanket statements that can be hurtful or inciting towards another person or their core beliefs.

i've been and had a look at the site (the url in the title is deliberately broken) and i do agree. the man himself is a jackass and not a particularly well educated one at that. if he knew he was able to cause disenssion here he'd be all puffed up like a little blowfish by the thought. i haven't bothered to bookmark the site "for further study" he has nothing to say worth hearing about christianity as likely he represents nobody but himself. were i to have a question about christianity i'd ask one of our friends here, not "reverend whozis", here i'd get a reasoned and courteous answer.

This is part of the point I am trying to explain...that there are
many people like this in mainstream society today, and it is
them that I speak out against. A member PM'd me today and said
that my posts were offensive....so does that mean that I have to
whitewash the history of christianity and other patriarchal
religions before I make my posts here? I base my posts on what
I have learned from the study of ancient Goddess/Matriarchal
societies, the newer patriarchal religions, and my personal
experiences with patriarchal religions.
To quote: "We (the transnational corporations) are now in the
driver's seat of the global economic engine. We are setting
government policies instead of watching from the side-lines."
---David Rockefeller, 1994
What this obviously means is that instead of pulling the strings
of governments, big business now runs countries directly, and
"governments" are put in place to appease the masses.
Consider the actions of Rush Limberger, Ray-gun, Emporer George
1 & 2, Stockwell Day, Jean Chretien, and other right-wingers
today who are championing the causes of FTAA, WTO, NAFTA,
GATT, yada, yada, yada....and who have a large following in the
general population of Canada & the U.S. today, as well as other
patriarch countries today.

maybe we should stop looking for these websites.. and going to them.

every time you spend your time looking at those sites... THEY are getting attention... by hurting your feelings.. THEY are accomplishing their purpose...

if we want to truly do something.. it should be ignore that stuff... because it's the REAL smut...

i wont' bother to go to sites like that... it's like that "anti-mastrubation society" floating around online... that had a huge somewhat satire based website on how horrible mastrubation was.... and although it may have been a joke.. it was still reinforcing outdated myths and religious takes on self -gratifcation, which makes it somewhat harmful. stupid people will take that stuff seriously...

just ignore it.. not worth complaining about it... they have the majority.. so just walk on by...

Mystique, I understand why you feel the way you do, but I regret deeply that your feelings sometimes spill out and are hurtful to others.

I am asking you as a friend on the board to consider how what you say effects others.

Moderator Mode:
No need to whitewash but also no need to make a blanket statement that will likely offend others. We all know the history of Christianity to the point we desire. We have chosen our paths but are tolorant of others. Some may share that opinion but many do not. Really nothing is to be gained by telling of the wrong doings of a religion that has no power over us. Can you really think of any benefit from a statement like that?? I fail to see it. I know I personally welcome inciteful comments about many things but this just not being one of them. Again that is me.

I also see no reason to go looking for offensive material so I would never have known about this site had I not found the link here...in a place where I hope to avoid this type of stuff. I think that for us to offer our opinion on how this site affects us is mildly interesting. My statement would be that it doesn't affect me anymore than what I do affects the owner of that site.

Sorry if I am crabby. I just got off work. Long night...Charge nurse from Hell mode still on.

C'est La Vie?????

Isn't that what the owner of that site could respond to all of us. If we don't like something we see then don't look. No need to rant about it in my opinion. However MW is a site created entirely for the members of this community. This is their home and they/we/you shouldn't have to be told that our feelings don't matter. If we inadvertantly hurt someone we should be willing to step up and admit it and see things from thier perspective. We do discuss some pretty controversial topics here that we often get heated over, but lets not take that frustration out on each other. We are here to learn from and grow with each other!
