Simple (Quick) Museic Initiation

Somebody wanted an example of an ultra-simple initiation rite.. so this is what I came up with in about 10 minutes. In respect to Occam's Razor, I wouldn't allow myself to work any longer than that on it, because I know how tempted I'd become to add some complexity to it. ;) So.. what do you think? Sound simple enough?



A Simple (Quick) Museic Rite of Initiation

Watcher(s) Leader(s) of ritual.
Initiator Chosen by new initiate -- can also be Watcher.
Summoner Temple role, or chosen by Watcher.
Dedicant New initiate.

Prepare Space.
The Dedicant decides with what the Chalice is filled.
Position Dedicant at Northeast of Space.
Between Death and Birth, representing transition.
Wrap Dedicant in obscuring fabric.

[Summoner] Call Temple to Space.

To worship rightly the Lord and Lady. Merry meet!""

[Watcher] Consecrate Space.
Evocations.
Invocations.

[Watcher] ""We gather to welcome a new brother/sister to our Temple.
<Dedicant> has come and stands between the old and new,

[Temple] Pass by the Dedicant, offering brief words of praise and welcome.

Move to the Altar, Drink from the Chalice.

[Initiator] Walk to Dedicant, lay hands on sides, and drop the fabric.
Take Dedicant by the hands, lead him/her to Altar.
Kiss Dedicant on the cheeks.
""You are welcomed into our Temple! Know that forever you walk
With our Hearts combined, in honor of the Great Spirit!""
Make Sign of Body at Dedicant's groin.
""May your Body be well with the blessings of the Divine,
Dancing in celebration of Love and Truth,
At the Sabbats of the Mysteries!""
Make Sign of Heart at Dedicant's chest.
