can you make your own deck of tarot cards

i was wondering if you can make your own tarot cards and if so are they still as effective as the ones that you buy. And if i can make them, i need help w/the symbols

oh sure! Since you are making them, they will mean more to you and you will be using your own symobolism....so they would probably be easier for you to read from.

i posted recently on this subject because I myself am making my own deck of cards. I think that it's great that other people are endeavoring or at least thinking about doing this, because I think it helps you get a much closer connection as well as more accurate understanding of the cards that you are using since you made them yourself. I am interested in knowing more about how things go if you actually do make your own deck.

And as a side note.. no deck is actually more effective than other deck, in any situation other than personally for you. You may have a better connection with one deck than others, but that is once again, a personal issue. Some decks may have more history, but that doesn't mean they will work better for you. You should find a deck that you personally comfortable with, rather than one that is recommended to you. You may be given/find/buy many decks before you find one that you actually connect with and feel confident with. Or in this case, you may actually make your deck.

As i've said before... Its not the cards, it's you. The cards are an extention of your energy.. and YOU do the reading.. not the cards... you are simply using the cards to open the communication and as a means to express the information. I've used playing cards to do readings... just to prove a point to people about the fact that it's not what cards your using that make the readings more accurate. In fact, over-concentration on the cards themselves (thinking the cards have some mystical ability to actually tell the future, rather than concentrating on the fact that it's your energy, and the energy/thoughts of the person you are reading for that actually make the cards explain things), may cause inaccuracies, as you may not be letting your energy flow with the cards as a medium for divination, and are simply in effect playing a game of chance and trying to rationalize the reading for the person you are reading for.
