Sigh....
How do you handle someone who instist on tell you how powerful they are, or how perceptive, and give you example and example of things they've done, etc?
Do you just nod and smile?
I find it really annoying.....
Sorry... just had to vent somewhere....

Smile and nod, and resist the urge to kill. :D

I'm imagining how good it would feel to wrap my hands around her neck....
Homicidal tendencies? Why no.... why on earth you would you think that?? :D

I usually tell them that I have 1 nerve left and they
are getting on it. :D If that does not work, I tell them
in two words: F.O!
To believe what you see is to be deceived.

People who brag about something are usually covering up their own inadequacy in that area.

Yeah, I just told someone elsewhere basically the same thing ~ those who don't have/understand something pick on those who do. :bad:

Well said Mol...Dria and I could tell you that we've had the same kind of problem with a certain someone....we have the luxury of blocking this person. If you haven't that luxury, yep, just nod and smile, or if it is someone you can "live without" simply avoid seeing this person.

I once had a friend who used to brag about her grandmother who initiated her into Wicca, and about her boyfriend being bit by a werewolf over summer vacation. In truth, she was a fairly insecure person with a troubled home life who was using... let's just say, physical relationships with others to substitute for emotional, caring ones.
I was extremely mad and annoyed at first, but I figured, if bragging was her way of venting and making herself feel better, whatever, give her five minutes a day. ::shrug:: I didn't see her all that often anyway.
I also learned that clenching my fists REALLY hard worked to release some of the irritability. :D :D But that biting your tongue (literally) is NOT the most comfortable thing.

Well, this is what happened....
I do tarot readings online, for a psychic network, and we use IM for the clients to contact us.
Well this girl contacted me and wanted to know if I do free readings (which I don't). Then she started telling me of how she thinks she might have some kind of abilities. Then she went on and on for 1/2 an hour telling me story after story of her psychic experiences.
I was really supportive and told her how cool that was, and how she could excersise and control her abilities and such, but she just kept telling me more stories.
Then she took a break to tell me about a friend who had an evil satanic spell book, and that she knew she would be safe if she just didn't read the spells....
I think the whole experience just annoyed me because I tried to be supportive, but I felt like I was being ignored.
Anyway.....
