i think it's a really nice avatar... although i'm a big fan of using your own picture (if you're comfortable with that, and you have one you'd like to use of course!), I think you chose a very beautiful image!:)

actually I am leaning on towards using my own picture eventually, however, I don't have a digital camera, and I dont have a scanner soooo... But my cousin does so it seems I might take a trip to see her someday soon... :)

yeah.. i consider my digital camera to be like a child... so basically i carry it everywhere and take pictures constantly... i keep forgetting that not everyone is lucky enough to have a digi or a scanner...

however... i do recommend.. if you ever get like 50 bucks to spend on some random electronic thingie... check out webcams! some of them are really great for only like 50-100 dollars, and they do streaming video, video clips, and regular photos... so you can have lots of recorded stuffies! However, i'm kinda poor so i dont' even have one yet... (my digital cam was a high school grad present from my parents, and my scanner is like 6 years old and was also given to me...heh).

Also... there are a lot digital camera giveaways here and there (sometimes they give them away if you get a magazine sub for like 20 bucks or if you change internet service providers or something along those lines), so keep your eyes open, and you may not actually have to "buy" one after all.
