I need your help with a ritual...

I want to do a self-cleansing, to help me come to terms with my faults, but I cannot, for the life of me, think of a productive ritual to help me do so. Can anyone suggest anything?

What are you cleansing yourself of? Like, if you mean cleanse yourself of negative thoughts of yourself, that's not going to work because you might just start thinking them again.

Instead perhaps you should work on addressing those faults - deciding which are ok, which aren't, and what to do about the latter. Don't be too harsh on yourself, a lot of our "faults" are what make us who we are.

this has come up a few times in my class, and what i have them do is something called 'The Mirror of the Soul'.

get a notebook, and on one side list all of your traits that you consider 'positive'. do the same on the other side with those traits that you feel are 'negative'.
be brutally honest, as this is not intended for anyone's eyes but yours. many people are as reluctant to be honest about their good traits as they are with the bad. so take a few days (or longer) to compile this list.
and understand that sometimes the same trait can appear on both sides of the list.

now, try to assign as many correspondences as you can to all of these traits (astrological, elemental, etc).

the trick then is to try and balance all these correspondences as best as you can, by altering the traits you deem 'negative'. this can be by trying to eliminate them completely, or by changing them just enough to fit your ideal balance.

this isn't a 'spell', but it can be a ritual. in any case, it's usually a difficult job that requires hard work and focus, and a very deep searching of your inner shadows. and even when not entirely successful, the journey itself can be very rewarding.

One of our members posted an awesome ritual for this purpose, but I can't get it to come up in a search and I can't remember the member's name to look for it that way. It was called a Self Reform Ritual or Spell if you want to try looking for it.

And believe me, the fault I am referring to has definitely not helped me in life. It isn't negative thoughts, it's a part of my personality that I could do without.

Thanks so much for following up on that. I did remember that it was you after I made that post but still couldn't find it in a search. It's one of the most awesome rituals for this purpose I've seen and it is in my personal BOS.
