An old friend, RnR, needs help

Hi guys, some of you know us from when this board started and most of you probably don't but we'd appreciate your help also.

My soul's brother, RantnRaven is in the hospital with pancreatitis. He is in alot of pain and needs much healing energy right now. So could you please light a candle for him or pray or whatever. He doesn't seem to be in too good of spirits either so he needs positive energy too.

For those of you who don't know he is here in DFW, TX and my roommate. Through Mol and Semele's magick, this community, we met and he came out here from CA to start over.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Yesterday (Sat) they we're still doing tests on him and hopefully today we'll find out something more concrete. He does seem to have a cyst or some kind of growth in his pancreas/gallbladder area but that's all we know so far. The bulk of his pain was less yesterday but he is restless and sick of being in the hospital and hopes he'll be out soon.

Thanks Mol! I did print one out to take him but forgot it when we left! :( But he was happy to know y'all were sending him energy and thinking of him! :D

So now we know what is wrong with him. Fortunately I was there with him when the doctors were there cuz he was a little loopy on the drugs.

He's got a psuedo-cyst on/in his pancreas. They were scared it was solid and they were going to have to tell him he only has 6 months to live :eek: ! But fortunately it isn't and treatable :nonono: He's getting pumped full of antibiotics and fluids now so its wait and see. If it starts to shrink he will get better and everything will be ok but if it doesn't they will have to surgically drain it. :( He's not to thrilled with that idea. He's still antsy and hopes to stay in only a couple more nights but the doctor gave him an average estimate of 5 days. There maight be other damage to his body too but we're praying there's not.

So 2 doctors later and after all this information started to sink in he seems to be in better spirits and looking forward to being well and out again.

Thankyou guys again so much! Its great knowing y'all are all out there thinking of us and especially him.

RnR is doing better but it looks like they are giving him 10 days to heal and then see what's next.

please keep sending him the energy. He seems in much better spirits and is willing to stick out the 10 days.

I am lighting a candle now. Hopefully this will be a small setback and nothing too serious. Is he still in the hospital? Is his pancreas still functioning or is he having to take insulin? Please tell him we love him and are thinking of him daily. I pulled a card for him and it was Strength....he will know how to take that.

He's still in the hospital but he isn't on insulin. Its still functioning.

He's having surgury tomorrow (Thurs) at noon. He seems to be ok with that and hopes to be out by the weekend. I am stressing for him though.

He's recovering from the surgery and they put him on some serious pain killers. He's also got alot of stuff around him so he can't really go out and smoke and they don't want him to. i don't know if he knew about that before he went into surgery. So please send him some "able to cope" energy.

I am requesting for healing spells for him. He will not because for some reason he does not like asking the Gods/Universe for help. I will try to open him up to it and i will be sneaky about it because if I tell him he might resisit. He really needs it. He's been in the hospital for two weeks now and needs to get out of there and be well. I will do my own for him late tonight (Sat/early sun morning) or tomorrow. If you don't think this is ethical thats fine, light a candle, but if you are open to it please lend us your help.

He's healing but they won't let him out until they know everything is going to be ok and he isn't going to have a relapse. So its more wait and see.

:D Looks like he's getting better. I was just able to talk to the person answering the phones on his floor and she said he's been up and walking and going out alot to smoke and be outside.

After all this is over and I've recovered from the stress I'm going to light one candle per response for someone else in this forum. And I'm going to try to get back on here more often.

Well, I’m home and damn glad of it.

SAHM brought to the hospital most of everyone’s replies to her initial post. I read them through a seemingly never-ebbing tide of Demerol, Morphine and various other narcotics. To all of you (those I know and those I do not really know yet): Thank you all for your Energy, Time, Patience and, moreover, Love.

Twenty-five was the number of days I spent before returning home. I would have replied sooner but I had to rebuild my energy- that, and we have been having some pretty severe lightening and thunder so I was unable to get online.

Initially I was terrified of the issue. Who wouldn’t be, really? I mean, when a doctor approaches you and says that there are three possibilities “worst case scenario” being that you may only have six months to live, you STOP and really look at your life with such renewed clarity that your knees buckle and your heart skips a couple of beats. Ultimately, they thought that treatment would cure all but, if not, they would have to take the surgical route.

Surgery it was and I was told, even then, that it was a 50/50 deal and we would have to wait and see. After a short while of grim anticipation, the verdict came in and I was getting better. Whew! What they ended up doing was literally cutting a slit in my pancreas and stomach and sewing the two together so the pancreas would drain without medical assistance. And it seems to be working – although all of my insides have to fight to reclaim the space left over by all of the rearranging.

In the days prior to surgery, they had to insert this thing called a Centralized Catheter (sp?) into my neck. It aloud a greater flow for the IV’s I had to have and was quite the hideous and annoying little thing. It was a little plastic junction box that accommodated three IV’s to be going at the same time. It was sewn onto me just above the collar bone and a tube was inserted into the Jugular and ran about six inches down toward my heart. After the operation, I ended up with two tubes coming out of my belly. One was to help drain the pancreas. The other was to drain a reserve of infectious material that the pancreas had created somewhere between my stomach and kidney. This reserve was discovered during the surgery and, as I was told, could have been more deadly then my initial illness had they not found it at the time. All in all, I looked a little like a Cyborg when I came out of post-op.

I am home now and am thankful that SAHM was such a dear friend and a huge help to me. That many days could have been very lonely but, she and RedStag were able to visit from time time-to-time. I also knew that, after reading all of the posts on MW, I was never really alone while there – I had every one of you at my bedside at all times. If you think I couldn’t feel all of you there, you would be mistaken. Not a day went by where I felt truly lonely – I knew all of you were there in some way or another. I could smell the Pine, taste the Lemonade and feel the warmth of The Porch as I sat in my (how did Kaylara say it?) ‘comfy, cozy chair type thingy’ and thought of you guys.

Thanks again for everything. I will be doing a number of PM’s in the next few days. I will also be posting the story of HOW I ended up in this mess – thought to do it now but didn’t want to bore everyone. I would recommend reading and sharing it with others as you see fit, though. It might be a little dry but I promise a strong message including Romance, Suspense, Life and Love.
