How do I find out who is causing me trouble?

I have had quite a few struggles lately. And I am pretty sure someone is wishing me bad luck, trouble, bad health etc.

I think I know how to handle it, if I knew who it was, so what I need now is something that will help me find out who is doing this to me, so that I can stop it. I have tried protection spells for myself but with no greater success :(

So does anyone have any ideas on how I can find out who is causing me all this pain? I don't want to go through with the ritual I have in mind unless I know who it is because I don't want it to backfire...

So please, anyone?

The simplest thing to do is to cast a protective shield or circle around yourself that will do one of two things ~
1) send any unwanted energies being directed at you into the earth or the universe where they can be transformed into helpful energies to heal the planet or some such, or
2) send any unwanted energies being directed at you back to the sender. You don't even have to know who the sender is, the energy knows where it came from and can find it's own way back. Once the person gets a taste of their own medicine it's usually a real eye-opener for them.

Another thing which I have found quite effective is to cast a Blessing on the suspected person. Yes, bless them in that whatever they send out to others will be returned to them three-fold or even ten-fold. But you must be sincere that if they are sending good energies out that they will be blessed by their return, as well as getting back whatever ill-wishing they may be doing, multiplied.

Someone else might be able to tell you how to trace unwanted energies, but that would be the last resort for me. Good luck.

I agree wholeheartedly with Lunacie, although I had never thought of the blessing part. I rather like it though.

If you have someone in mind who is doing this, you could try scrying for the answer whether it is that person or not. I use a pendulum, my husband uses fire. Whatever method, you should at least be able to tell if you are right or not.

Even bindings and hexes can be easily worked without a specific person in mind, and better so really since if someone's sending you nasty energy it's quite possible that they can hide their identity as well.

I've seen too much witch war based on people targeting the wrong person for their troubles.

Several times, I've discovered who was *messing with me* by paying attention to my dreams. My dreams tend to be very vivid, and easily remembered. Especially in such scenario's. In these situations, i've clearly seen the face, heard the voice, etc. However, I also know that it might not be as clear for everyone. I think the reason that dreams are important in this sort of scenario, is that dreams are the subconscious, speaking to us. And if someone is working nasties on us, and being as secretive as you seem to imply about it, obviosly, they are working on our subconscious. So I would start keeping a dream journal if I were you. Look for syncronicity. Look for the symbols in your dream. Is there someone you know who deals heavily with those symbols? Are you dreaming alot about something that has happened in the past between you and someone, even symbolically? Are you dreaming about things you fear involved with someone? Etc. Write it all down. If similar symbols/themes start popping up in your dreams on a regular basis, pay attention to it. See what scenario comes to mind.

However, I DO agree with everyone here. A general banishment of negativity/protective sheild might work best. Usually, I only do specific "target" banishments, if the problem is recurrent. If I KNOW that there is a problem, for sure, and if I exhaust every other method of fixing it. If every other means, fails, and the problem keeps happening, I will try to do a banishment to remove that person from my immediate atmosphere or life. If you DO find out who is *messing with you* perhaps you can try to work it out in a mundane way, as well as a general banishment of negativity, rather than concentrating on only a magickal method...

Well I am gonna do a shield, try a blessing, and Rick your rune magic always got what I need ;) (put a copy of it in my BoS, hope you don't mind). Haven't tried paying attention to my dreams, I sure am gonna do that though... I often remember my dreams, and I used to write a dream journal but haven't done it in a while now, think I am gonna pick it up again. :)

I have several rituals in my BoS that could work just fine for when one has trouble like this, but still I really would feel better if I knew who it was, since then I could do some "workings" in the mundane world aswell.... Perhaps my dreams will tell me that, will try scrying aswell, until then, a shield, blessings and rune magic might be just what I need. Thanks
