What if we had a topic a day or so about a different God or Goddess and discussed the aspects of each. I think that would be a very useful study.

Thoughts? Madame Moderator.

But how to start? Just pick a God/Goddess and run with it?

I think you should have a God/dess on their special days. Take a look at the Pagan book of days and you'd have plenty to start with.

This is a wonderful idea, and I certainly don't want to see it die before it has time to be born. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to do this for you, myself ~ I work, have a home and family to care for ~ on top of three Craft groups to juggle, but we won't go there right now, k? Good. Anyway. So if someone else wants the responsibility of "A God A Day", then, it's all yours! =D

Semele says she will do it. hehe. She had started this when the Community first started and no one seemed interested!

I think its a wonderful idea. I would get a lot out of it. The books that I have don't go into much detail about the Gods or Goddess.

Ok, I'm not gonna throw a fit or anything...heeheehee, but I had started this before. Anyway i was just listing some alphabetically...small amounts of info...very general and posting some interesting sites related to them. i guess i could pick up again in the morning and start posting them ........does anyone have any particulars they are interested in or should I just dive in?? Then when the one you know more about comes up you can add to it.

Gotta find my little water cap so I don't get my unruly mane of witchy hair wet first!

Alphabetically sounds good to me. Can't wait to read about them.

yes, alphabetically sounds good, if it's not too much trouble, so if anyone want to search through the thread for a specific deity it wouldn't be too hard to do

One option might be to look at the book '365 Goddess' by Patricia Telesco, this is a great book! I really enjoying going through it day by day.

That's a good idea, too. Thanks for sharing. I don't have a copy of the book, but I've thumbed through it; seems that she gave a very broad, world-view/sampling of Goddesses.

I wonder where my wife was getting all of her info when she was doing this before...

Oh, by the way...we have started everyone.

Mairwen has Arianrhod up for everyones comments. By the way, Mairwen, hope you dont mind that I edited the subject and put [God/Goddess a Day] - I thought it might help people see it in the mix.

Ok get off me MOl!!! I was getting the info from one of our many books....something with the word companion in the title. Sorry I am exhausted right now and need some sleep before I start in. Perhaps I will have some time Tuesday. I am the only weekend option person who is allways at work. Why can't I just say no????

Anyway I am glad everyone else is joining in. The book I was using gives very brief descriptions and I was trying to also post some useful links I found on certain ones. I think it would be neat if everyone posts some info they have found on various dieties. That way when Mairwen and myself are swamped with everyday junk like work there will still be some posts to read.

Anway I am waning quickly so I will have to get a nap in and try to come back and finish reading all the new posts before work tonight. Of course me and my OCD self probably will not be able to sleep knowing there are so many posts unread.
