Or do we? When the journey through this world is over...what happens next. Community views?

Well, I can see my thought provoking topic has went straight into the gutter.

When we leave our physical bodies we first enter what we know as Summerland. Here all is good and we are joined with the loved ones of our past that have not moved onward to return to physical form. If our soul requires more learning, we move from Summerland to be reborn once again into a physical body. We will meet and learn with new people and other souls from our past incarnations with whom we are inextricably linked throughout time.

My first though after reading your post was co-ed naked twister!

But seriously...

My personal beliefs are that we go to the summerlands for a period of rest and renewal, and to reflect on the life we just left. We prepare for the next life. The cycle of death and rebirth continues until we are in balance within ourselves and become one with the All, the divine, the universe, whatever you want to call it. I also believe that we stay around many of the same souls through out many lives, changing our relationships with them, and meeting new souls who we link to as well, creating bonds that last forever.

Perhaps our afterlife is what we make of it. If you believe in heaven, you will go there. If you believe you are going to hell, you go there. If you believe that there is nothing but oblivion, that is what happens to you.

Blessed Be!

(Looks like I got my head out of the gutter LOL)

I've been out and about working on the Pagan Unity Campaign, studying with my group, cleaning my home, harrassing my cat & my SweetSweetie. You know, working my fingers to the bone, as always.

to tell you the truth, I have no idea. I've thought that reincarnation could be it, but I seriously have no clue as to what I believe in as of right now. I'm sorry

Well, in my theory, you strive to become divine in this life-time. If you're able to do it, you can do whatever you wish. You are eternally immortal as yourself.

If you are unable to become divine within this life-time, just as your body breaks down and disperses in the physical plain, so your soul breaks down and and disperses into the astral.

Where do we go from here? If you really want to get your knickers in a twist, this is a good thing to lie awake at night and worry about. And Isn't that a song from "Evita"? I think that if we all lived in the present, in the moment, instead of trying to change history and unravel the mystery, we'd be living in John Lennon's "Imagine" instead. (Hey, I've got an adult kid in the music business, and we sing a lot around here) I only speak for myself, always, but it seems to me that if we spend our time trying to be the best possible "me" we can be, speaking the truth, making no assumptions and realizing that even if someone flames you, you can't take it personally, because the anger in the issues belongs to them, not you, we can put the future back where it belongs: In Her Hands, and look to the next step as the wonderful continuation of a fascinating adventure.

If I deserve to choose where I go when I'm gone, I would choose to be some sort of angel of mercy. Because of my strange dreams, I have always wanted to be one to take the pain away from someone sick or dying. I wish I could be the one to save a child from being molested (I was molested as a child and know that it has a lot to do with some of my insecurities). I pray that when it is time for me to move on, I can be a spirit that is able to help or guide the living. Does that sound weird? It's what I hope I can do. I know there is a reason for everything. I just wish I can be one to alter some of the bad things in this world, if possible. Alive or dead.
Blessed be!
